Vow to Protect: A Dark Mafia Arranged Marriage Romance Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
They call me a monster. Murderous and hateful. Beautiful but broken. Nothing can calm the ever raging storm inside of me. As the ruthless leader of the Doubeck family, there is a certain standard of brutality, I have to uphold.
Then I meet her. Beautiful, innocent, and so very afraid. Valentina is a rival family's daughter, and the little temptress has purposely tangled herself in my dark web. She seeks me out, needing my help, but the price for what she wants will be steep.
Since my father’s death, I’ve needed a wife to solidify my family name, and this woman has piqued my interest. So we strike a deal, intertwining our futures. I’ll put a ring on her finger, own her body, keep her safe, and kill them all.
I make a vow to protect her at all costs, that is until her secrets come to light, and I’m left with the choice of becoming the monster she’s only ever heard rumors about.
This is a dark arranged-marriage mafia romance. It contains dub-con/non-con as well as other scenes that may be triggering to some listeners.

J.L. Beck and Monica Corwin bring a dark and twisted Mob story to life. I am going to admit that I knew that this book ended on a cliffy BUT I was hoping to get the second book way sooner than December.
Valentina is a wonderfully written character that falls into a trap and will need Adrian for help. Adrian almost has no soul when she first comes into his life. But as with most monsters there is always a weakness. Valentina will become Adrian's weakness.
I couldn't put Vow to Protect down and read it in one setting. I will be reading the second book. I will have to reread this book to remind me what happen- so that sucks but that's okay.
Oh my! I love, love , love this book. Both H and h are definitely my kind of main characters! H is a major alpha with huge trust issues yet completely falls head over heals over our heroine. His protectiveness, his compassion for her fears and the way he takes care of her is actually driving me to daydream… The intimate moments are scorching hot with lots of commanding dirty talk🔥🔥🔥unfortunately, the cliffy is going to destroy me though! I really need my fix soon!
-The H: Adrian is a mafia guy (not traditional it’s got a secret society take) he is JP which I love (not a lot of jealous moments but lots of possessiveness). He has a ruthless rep but he’s soooooo frickin sweet and adores Val.
-Care taking: Adrian is so sweet to Val. He carries her a lot and bathes her, Feeds her, puts her in his lap. Washes her hair. I really loved this.
-H is protective and possessive in the best way! “No one else will touch you.” “If I see you with another man, I’ll kill him”. Her protection fails and he almost kills his best friend bc he was her security the night she was almost hurt.
-The h: she’s a “mafia” princess or a secret society princess and she’s been arranged to marry a disgusting man who beats her. She’s innocent and meek but she’s tougher than she seems bc she keeps surviving through all the BS.
-arranged marriage: ok the h is arranged to someone else in the beginning. These 2 are each other and it’s kinda instant but the h goes to the H to ask him to kill her fiancé. So they make a deal that she willingly goes to the H in exchange for him killing her then fiancé.
*abuse. The h is abused, it’s not super graphic but she does get hit a few times.
*Human trafficking- not graphic just mentioned really
*R@pe- she sees her cousin being raped, twice by her shitbag fiancé.
* sexual abuse/R/child trafficking: this isn’t graphic AT ALL. It’s just mentioned
This book was good. It just had alot of filler to me so I skimmed to get to the juice. And I don’t think I’ll continue I’m not sure, maybe I will bc I love Adrian lol but it was good overal just not everything i need but enough.

Our heroine is in an arrangement marriage to an awful man when we begin this story. He's truly awful, and there are scenes in the first few chapters which will feel truly uncomfortable for some people. Please see the trigger warnings. However our hero soon takes control of the situation and she's now under his protection.
I found this one quite emotional, but in a really great way! I know if I've shed tears, then it's a great book. This is a dark romance, so bear that in mind. But if you are looking at a Mafia dark romance, you aren't looking for anything fluffy and light, right? No spoilers from me as I feel like this is best if you experience it as it happens. I really enjoyed this and will be waiting patiently for the second part of this book in December.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who's open when it comes to intimate times, as they do get a little steamy, although not quite as bad as some of those Mafia books out there lol. Now those ones would make a miner blush, but that's not to say that things won't really start to take off in book two. So on that note I'm going to take off and read the second book now.
