A great story of tenacity and achieving your dreams. I know I really liked this story because I did not even know who Bayley is. I simply became a fan of hers and her struggle through this book.
There is a great mix of action and story in the book. I like that in the comic universe that the wrestling matches are real.
This a a great underdog story. It is great being part of the woman's revolution in wrestling, but what happens when you are told you are not good enough or good but not to be great? Then your "friends" are picked over you. Do you do things the easy way an accept that, or the hard way, taking your lumps night after night.
A great story of of never giving up on your dreams, even when other have already made up their mind of you. A touching inspirational story.

Excellent Story With Mostly Excellent Artwork

This is the first comic I've ever read outside of magazines. I've never been a comic book fan, but this one has definitely persuaded me to start buying the WWE series of comic books by Boom Studios.
As a big fan of women's wrestling, in particular the Four Horsewomen, I simply had to get this. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop.
The story is perfectly told from Bayley's perspective. It's really interesting to see how she balances friendships with her peers outside of the ring, while fighting them inside the ring, with kayfabe reigning strong in the confines of the story.
It's particularly interesting that the comic focuses on Bayley. When it comes to the Four Horsewomen, Bayley always seems to be the least notable, despite being one of the most popular superstars in NXT's history. Her determination to prove her doubters wrong and advance her career is inspiring, while her jealousy and disappointment in regards to her fellow Horsewomen being able to showcase themselves on the main roster keeps her grounded and makes her feel like a real person you're emotionally invested in.
Sasha Banks VS Bayley at TakeOver Brooklyn remains my personal favourite match of all time, and so it was particularly special to me to see it captured so perfectly in comic form in this book. Another perfect recreation was a photo on Bayley's phone of her backstage photo hugging Sasha from Battleground 2016, recreated in their NXT gear. Little touches like that make a big difference.
Events covered in this story include: Stephanie's introduction of the NXT women, the Four Horsewomen's arrival at the Performance Center and initial training, #GiveDivasaChance, Charlotte, Becky & Sasha being informed of their main roster call-up, Bayley VS Sasha at TakeOver: Brooklyn, Bayley's performances alone in NXT, Bayley's feud with Nia Jax, Bayley's feud with Asuka, and Bayley teaming up with Sasha at WWE Battleground 2016.
The only problem I have with the storytelling is only a minor niggle, but I felt like the part of the story focusing on the 2016 WWE Draft was poorly shown. Some of the female draft picks are illustrated, but none of them are in chronological order. This is a problem when Bayley's anger and frustration with not being picked increases with each illustration, with the draft pick number going up and down. Unless Bayley was rewinding and fast forwarding through the draft, this doesn't make any sense.
The vast majority of the artwork is stunning, perfectly depicting the superstars. Unfortunately there are a few pages where another artist took over, and these pages look horrendous, making the superstars look like masculine caricatures. These pages are noted at the beginning of the book, being Pages 1-7 on Chapter Three, and Pages 8-14 on Chapter Four.
For anyone interested, the total list of guest superstars include: Team Bella, Paige, Stephanie McMahon, Ric Flair, Sara Amato, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Dusty Rhodes, Natalya, Naomi, Triple H, Nia Jax, Tamina, Peyton Royce, Dana Brooke, Asuka, Billie Kay, Ember Moon, Aliyah, & Mick Foley.
In conclusion, this comic book is a must-read if you're a fan of women's wrestling.
