A Walk Along the Beach: A Novel Kindle Edition
|New from||Used from|
“You can always trust Macomber . . . to tug at your heart strings and keep you turning pages.”—AARP
“Macomber scores another home run with this surprisingly heavy but uplifting contemporary romance between a café owner and a photographer. Eloquent prose . . . along with [a] charming supporting cast adds a welcome dose of light and hope. With this stirring romance, Macomber demonstrates her mastery of the genre.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review)
“Highly emotional . . . a hard-to-put-down page-turner, yet, throughout all the heartache, the strength and love of family shines through.”—New York Journal of Books
Praise for Debbie Macomber
“No one tugs at readers’ heartstrings quite as effectively as Macomber.”—Chicago Tribune
“The reigning queen of women’s fiction.”—The Sacramento Bee
“It’s impossible not to cheer for Macomber’s characters. . . . When it comes to creating a special place and memorable, honorable characters, nobody does it better than Macomber.”—BookPage

In typical Debbie Macomber fashion, she writes the scenes to make the reader REALLY FEEL the emotions the characters are experiencing.
Every time I read a new Macomber book, it just makes me eager for even moor!!
This book simply explains a man with no depth stalking a traumatized woman. Even she has little depth. And she succumbs to his stalking by finally giving in. This is 2020 . . . "No means no," and "Me too."
While there's a romance in here and I like the characters, the tragedy in the book outweighed the romance.
I enjoyed re-meeting the characters from Oceanside, here side characters, but featured in A Cottage by the Sea.
It was quite readable, as are all her books, but just not what I wanted to read in 2020, when there's enough tragedy in the world!

It's subject is a sad one, and I bawled my eyes out, hard to do at 4am with a husband sleeping next to me, good job my kindle is a paperlight!
Oh it's good, so good I could have given it 100 stars and it still wouldn't have been enough. The storyline is classic boy meets girl, boy is shy, etc, but this author has a way of making it so much more, much more!
Set in Oceanside, same as Cottage By The Sea (I re-read this before I started Walk on the Beach) Willa and Harper are sisters, Harper had beaten Leukaemia a few years previously but recently had taken to doing daredevil events, did she know something? Willa, owner of Bean There is worried about her, but Harper is determined, as she's determined to see her Sister settled and matchmakes with a new member of the community, Sean.
Sean has his own story, he's a professional¥⁹ photographer, travelling the world, and is tongue tied around girls, but is smitten by Willa, so much so he buys a coffee every day just to see her and he doesn't even like coffee!, that's a sign of true love!
Of course, there are animals involved too. Old friends from Cottage by the Sea make an appearance but you don't need to have read this book to enjoy Walk on the Beach.
I will now re-read this book, and make sure I have lots of chocolate on hand, and a box of tissues!
I think this is one of Debbie Macomber's best ever books, and that's hard to say as all her books are!!! If you don't read another book ever, read this one, it's so worth it!!!
