Once again, Catherine Ryan Hyde manages to capture the essence of human nature and how our childhood memories are not always as remember them.
No exception...All her works are awesome! Catherine Ryan Hyde uses her gift of writing really well. She's got all the writing factors or ingredients (or whatever writers call it) perfect. Her subject matter and writing style both engage the readers. Most importantly, they impart valuable life lessons. Also, her books are not at all expensive; always, I get more than what I paid for.
Not just because they’re so well written because but mostly because the characters in the books have such a quality to them I feel a connection to them
I didn’t really get that in this book*
Not that I didn’t think it was realistic I think Miss Hyde always does an excellent job
The story just didn’t have a whole lot of take away from it for me
Maybe because I’m 60 years old and I’ve been through all of that already
The years when you’re a child and you think you know everything
I’m giving it four stars because the way the story jumped back-and-forth present to past and vice a versa for this author of that formula was very out of sorts
