If you've seen the PBS series and liked it, you'll be surprised to find this series

If you've seen the PBS series and liked it, you'll be surprised to find this series, which I think topped the PBS version by a mile. The main character is more nuanced than in the PBS version. Yes, he's moody and those moods can be dark at times. But there's a lot more complexity to this portrayal of the detective. The supporting roles are also excellently rendered, the stories are great, and the whole series is highly enjoyable for mystery fans or just anyone who enjoys good drama.

I like the BBC version also but Krister Henricsson is better then Kenneth Branagh. Get used to the subtitles and it's one of the best crime series out there. This is an expensive way to watch it considering season 2 is free on Netflix. Season 3 should be released soon.

Swedish series very good.

The characters are true to Henning Mankell's books. The acting is very good. Starts out very interesting but a little weak at end.

I really enjoy all of the Wallander series. I hope there are more. I would recommend this product to whomever has the same tastes as me. I appreciate the quality of the series, the scripts, the acting, and the directing.

Another good Wallander

One of the more intricate episodes, though they are all pretty well put together. Wallanders role is a particularly quiet one, but a satisfying
story with, as usual, many sidelights.
I wouldn't miss it.

I prefer this series over the series done with Kenneth Branagh. This has authenticity. Great acting with wonderful plot and characters. It well worth the rental fee.

These shows are addictive! I wish we could get the full seasons here in the US instead of per episode. The Swedish and original version beats the BBC hands-down!

We have watched all of this series of movies and love them. We tried the Kenneth Branagh series and did not like them. Would recommend to anyone.
