Sure SOME stuff happens, but it feels so recycled that it takes until 3/4ths of the book to actually do anything. AGAIN! I can count on 4 fingers the number of stuff that's actually important, and 2 hands what is "filler exposition" or stuff that's just there. (BristleXRoot D: )
Exile scenes are so flat and meaningless 60% through the end book, that there's a last minute exile just to spice up the ending BEFORE THE CLIFF HANGER! That has to be some kind of writing sin because NO READER GIVES A FLOP ABOUT HARELIGHT, MOTHWING, OR ICEWING. Also, Tigerstar's like: "well you might as well stay in ShadowClan. We're the homeless exile camp!" And Mistystar doesn't react at all to the fact that she exiled 3 of her clan to go live in shadowClan.....W.T.F??? WHY exile them in the first place? what purpose does this serve? It's not a punishment of exile if another clan is willing to take you in. like, THAT MUCH SHOULD BE OBVIOUS.
Exile scenes were more meaningful in the last book, but they feel so recycled in this book, the book slaps you in the face with the question: Why do all of this?? What is this for? And you just wonder wtf is EV-Bramblestar's plan in all of this while he twirls his evil mustache.
For SQUIRRELFLIGHT? Seriously? Is there a character more over-rated? Now that Erin's precious Leafpool is gone, they go out of their way to flatter Squirrelflight. And she's like: "Do I know someone who is dead that holds a crazy grudge against me but also kinda loves me????? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.....
Crowfeather gets exiled....again. What is this? the third time?
Lionblaze gets exiled again. And Twigbranch... and like 15 others. Yawn. It took them this whole book to realize that they can form their own exile camp....something that should have happened in the last book when this exile stuff started to happen.
Berrynose get removed and killed SOLELY for the purpose of placing Squirrelflight as leader of ThunderClan without trouble. Not that there would be anyway. Also, even though he was a sneaky rotten B* in the last book, Erins go out of their way to remind the reader 3 TIMES that Berrynose was a butthead but he was a GOOD DEPUTY. =_= A good deputy that weaseled his way into the position in the first place... riiiiight.
And everyone else in ThunderClan is so spineless except the old MCs. But even they suck because they won't do anything at ALL.
Lionblaze & Jayfeather & Ivypool & Dovewing= Fought the Dark Forest war to end all time
Alderheart & Twigbranch & Violetshine= Fought Darktail's oppression not even 2 years ago
Graystripe= Firestar's side kick who is the biggest codebreaker to have ever existed
None of them did jack this whole time. Not really! Not even talk to the current MCs Rootpaw, Shadowsight, and Bristlefrost.
Mistystar and Harestar's whole personality does a 180 because Ev-Bramblestar told them too....does anyone else see the problem with that?
Leafstar doesn't do anything at all for some reason, even though i'm pretty sure she believed something was up in the LAST BOOK and she needs proof from all the medicine cats, a death vision, to witness the exiles herself, a chat with Tigerstar and squirrelflight like 3 times, AND for Ev-Bramblestar to order her to go to war for her to ACTUALLY go to war against ThunderClan. JUST no....
What is happening to these characters? They change every single book! There were chapters dedicated to Shadowsight ghost-haunting a scene from a PREVIOUS chapter! Or Bristlefrost confessing that she likes Rootspring even though they talked only twice about breaking the code! I'm serious! They talked twice and about nothing special!
I wish Bristlefrost had been naive about Ev-Bramble much longer, or had a more savage side like before and was totally onboard for taking over thunderClan. Did anyone feel a little Ev-BrambleXBristle going on since the last book or was that just me?
Rootspring & Shadowsight= mild mannered reasonable cats who wish they were like everyone else because life just isn't fair!
Bristlefrost= mild mannered reasonable cat
Tawnypelt= mild mannered reasonable cat
Squirrelflight= mild mannered reasonable cat
Alderheart= mild mannered reasonable cat
Hawkwing= mild mannered reasonable cat
Tree & Violetshine= mild mannered reasonable blob
Lionblaze= killing machine. lol. First Russetfur then Harestar. is there no one he won't kill?
I think it's pretty safe to say that the 3 stars came from all the cats who finally died in ThunderClan. Though I gotta be real here: They could have killed 4 more. Berrynose, Steamleaf, and Rosepetal aren't enough. Also, Breezepelt's kit Smokehaze dies too. That's everyone worth mentioning. Go figure. I honestly forgot every single warrior's existence from Molewhisker and Cherryfall down. Don't know who they r and don't really care either. Twigbranch's adopted family who? I don't know, but Bristlefrost is alone with no friends since the beginning anyway so keep writing: "Bristlefrost heard the jealous sneers and felt the hateful glances they gave her when her back was turned." ThunderClan sounds like a great proud Clan right now.
The first few pages were a little bland, consider that, but the susppense started to build after the disappearance of Shadowsight. (dun, dun, dun)
You can obviously tell that the imposter thht has taken jurisdiction over Bramblestar's body is no good, LAZY, and thinks of him before others. (MOST DEFINITELY IS NOT THE REAL BRAMBLESTAR)
Convincing the Clans to make the so called Codebreakers atone, turn them into "exiles", also known as "rebels".
Of course, later in the book begins pure S A G A. Poor
Stemleaf killed in battle...
I've read some comments about the imposter being Ashfur. Which TOTALLY makes sense. It's not hidden that he shows fondess towards Squirellflight, (which Ashfur did love). And for the second time, is determined to hurt the cats Squirellflight loves (Alderheart, Sparkpelt, e.c.t) As you may know, some cats are suspicious that Bramblestar lured dogs to attack Sparkpelt.
Shadowsight is mysteriously wounded, and is split between the matter of life and death. While being a spirit for quite some time, (With his parents greifing over his limp body)
he lingers in the Thunderclan camp, only to find out that Bramblestar had attacked him. (Not very surprised)
With Bristlefrost faking her loyalty is causing weirrd problems. Especially having to politely obey the daft commands of the imposter.
I just HAVE to say I love the sheer romance between Bristlefrost and Rootspring. (Yes, he finnaly received his warrior name!)
Now, one thing that was getting really redundant was the random scores in the text. (Also known as: - ) Examples: Misty-star, Breeze-pelt, Thun-derclan [Yes, it did appear like that])
I recommend this book!
I HAVE EVERY HARDBACK IN THE WARRIORS SERIES AND EVERY SERIES. AM WAITING FOR MY LAST 2 BOOKS TO COMPLETE THE NEWEST SERIES. I ALSO HAVE ALL THE BONUS BOOKS. I HAVE NO CHILDREN,NOR GRAND CHILDREN, (WISH I HAD A HOUSE FULL BUT NOT IN THE STARS) SO I WISH I KNEW WHAT TO DO WITH THESE BOOKS ONCE I AM FINISHED. I KNOW I COULD TAKE TO LIBRARY BUT WOULD RATHER HAVE A CHILD OR ADULT HAVE THEM IN A NICE HOME AND WOULD CHERISH THEM.
And like is it just me or do I feel mad emotions at cats that do stuff like the imposter? I can't wait for squirrelflight to announce to the imposter is. SHE WAS ABOUT TO SAY IT AT THE END THEN IT STOPPED 🙏✋😣Love this book overall and can't WAIT To read the fourth one! Keep up the good work erin! ( I would rate this more stars but since I can't 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟)🙌

Spoiler alert: The spirit in Bramblestar's body is 100% Ashfur. It all points to him. The blue eyes, the wandering between dimensions (how do you think he reached Starclan), the enduring love for Squirrelflight, the knowledge of clan ways, hatred for Bramblestar, the way he knew in detail about past events. It all points to him. Now we just have to wait a year to hear the Erins say it in the fourth book. Great book, reccomended for Warriors fans. :)

I think the spirit in Bramblestar's body might be ashfur cuz it does say that the fake Bramblestar said that he came back for her at the end...
Because it has such an abrut ending aqnd the next one comes in november but its the best book ever
