In the first chapter of this epic trilogy, the outcome of the historic War of the Ancients is forever altered by the arrival of three time-lost heroes: Krasus, the dragon mage whose great power and memories of the ancient conflict have inexplicably diminished; the human wizard Rhonin, whose thoughts are divided between his family and the seductive source of his now-growing power; and Broxigar, a weathered orc veteran who seeks a glorious death in combat.
But unless these unlikely allies can convince the demigod, Cenarius, and the untrusting night elves of their queen's treachery, the burning Legion's gateway into Azeroth will open anew. And this time - the struggles of the past may well spill over into the future....

Well of Eternity near Zin Aszhari...
Xavius and his mad dream of power...
Hakkar the Hound master and Mannoroth...
Krasus, Ronin and Brox în a time travel...
Malfurion, Tyrande and Illidan descovering their call...
However, it's still a good book. So if you're not crazy picky about aesthetics and enjoy the Warcraft universe then this is yet another excellent novel that is easy to read and hard to put down. You know the names, you know the places, and the lore nerds will enjoy the little details especially.
This book covers a lot of the lore's most ancient history and introduces some of the most emblematic characters of them all in their early years such as Malfurion and Illidan Stormrage and the priestess Tyrande, Its good because you get the chance to watch those characters grow and become on what we all know they are.
The book also features some villains in the making as deathwing and Malygos which is a nice touch.
The book it self is well written and urges you to keep on reading until you are done with it which is great. I give it 4 stars because is enjoyable for every reader, but it has so many things going on that sometimes is hard to keep track of them all and all the characters at the same time. Anyway if you choose to read it, you might as well buy the other books from the trilogy to make it count.
The aspects that I like is that it introduces the heroes of the past as normal everday mundane characters that are thrusted into roles that set their destiny. Also, it details the ancient elven society of the highborne and night elves. I like how one can get a feel for the culture and attitude of the elves, especially the xenophobia toward the time travelers.
The one thing about using future characters in the past (Brox, Rhonin, Krasus) is that they are outsiders viewing the elven society from an outsider's perspective. I felt this angle was useful tool, especially in illustrating the historical elven culture and problems during that era.

About the book: if you would ever consider diving deep into the lore of Warcraft, this trilogy is the best entry point for that. It describes one of the most important events in the history of the world of Azeroth with tons of interesting characters and places. You can learn a lot about the early Night Elf civilization, about the Dragon Aspects, the Burning Legion. Should you play World of Warcraft and venture into the Zones introduced during the Cataclysm and pick Mount Hyjal you would see a LOT of familiar faces which would make the zone even more entertaining than it already is. I've read this book in Hungarian first, but my copy has been lost, that's the reason I bought it again in English this time.
I hope my review has been useful! :)

What this book does offer is a fun, action packed story that whilst not taking itself too seriously, does offer some fantastic nuggets of lore and context for one of the best known periods in all of Warcraft. I’m looking forward to the second book in the trilogy.
