About Wendy Cheairs
Wendy Cheairs lives in the middle of New Mexico. She avoids the melting heat by writing in a wonderfully air-conditioned house with her husband and herd of cats that believe they run the place. Wendy has been writing for several anthologies, short fiction, and breaking out into novels now. She writes under her pen name W.M. Dawson. She often is lurking on social media when pondering too many story arcs.

Blog postIt is July, thank goodness. We have made our way into a semi-normal world again where we are allowed out of our caves, homes, or whatever you want to call them into the world again. After many months, over a year of living in our confinement, it seems as we might; I stress the word might see the light at the end of an endless tunnel. That or I have lost my mind, and after all this time in lockup, I probably have.It has been a wild ride this year so far and so much writing. And no, for SO MUCH mo10 months ago Read more

Blog postIt’s Still January It is somehow still January 2021, this month seems to be moving slowly. I guess that is a good thing, depending on a point a view. Somehow we are not completely on fire. (Please 2021 don’t take that as a challenge.)
I have been living and breathing in my writing cave for many new projects for this year. I have a few projects out on deck and coming soon, woo hoo there.

Blog postSo far January of 2021 has been… chaotic in America. Let’s hope the rest of it gets better…
This month, Devoured by Gluttony is part of new Urban Fantasy books of 2021. I know it came out last year but is still part of newer books for 2021. This year I have a lot of new books and novella coming out and can’t wait to share with everyone. In February my first YA retelling of a Fairy Tale is coming out.

Blog postI do not think I have ever been so happy to see the end of a year than I am to see the tail end of this one. Not that I am looking 2021 in the eye or trying to annoy 2021 in any way, shape, or form… gosh forbid we piss this upcoming year in the course last year came off like. Maybe this coming year could be less on fire, plague-ridden, doom scrolling, house locked, and ever other horrible things like 2020.

Blog postWe can see the end of 2020, finally. I am so glad to see the end. It is nearly here. I thought I would get out of this year without it going completely downhill. I think I got cocky, and then 2020 noticed me. It saw me getting excited that it was nearly done, I was happy to make it out of this year without too much going to shit, and it came to crack me upside the head literally… Ok, I slipped on ice, fell on the cement-like cartoon character to give myself a nasty concussion. Words that strike fear into man. For man does not know the things these women are capable of. Men fear the things they can not comprehend. The witches of the world can do damage, but they can also do good. Just because you're a witch doesn't mean you want to destroy everything. So witches are quite the opposite. They bring life to dead forests. Resurrect an army of dead. Just a typical Tuesday for the Daughters of Darkness.
Join us through these tantalizing witch tales and learn whether you should fear the witch, or befriend her.

Dark Halloween
I'm dreaming of a Dark Christmas
With every little tale that I read
When the knife blades glisten
And scared children listen
To hear slayers in the night
Where sugarplums can be gory
In the frightening elf story
And trees eat favorite household pets
There are gifts on all the pages
Of terror through the ages
Told of gift giving regrets
I'm dreaming of a Dark Christmas
With every little tale I read
While the bright lights shine
And the family dines In the soft fireplace glow
So hold loved ones tight
It's not Santa visiting tonight
Death lies buried in the snow.

“I’m interrupting the scheduled programming to bring to you breaking news, as yet, even officials seem to be unable to comment. The first reports coming in seem to be somewhat unbelievable, and I can assure you, this is not a prank. As you can see from the live footage we are broadcasting now, the White House is in flames. We are unsure yet what has happened, but it is believed at this stage to have been a rocket attack, it just…. well... it…. exploded."
