About the author

Author Biography
Matthew Cash, or Matty-Bob Cash as he is known to most, was born and raised in Suffolk; which is the setting for his debut novel Pinprick. He is compiler and editor of Death By Chocolate, a chocoholic horror Anthology and the 12Days: STOCKING FILLERS Anthology. In 2016 he launched his own publishing house Burdizzo Books and took shit-hot editor and author Em Dehaney on board to keep him in shape and together they brought into existence SPARKS: an electrical horror anthology, The Reverend Burdizzo’s Hymn Book, Under The Weather* and Visions From the Void ** and he has numerous solo releases on Kindle and several collections in paperback.
Originally with Burdizzo Books, the intention was to compile charity anthologies a few times a year but his creation has grown into something so much more powerful *insert mad laughter here*. He is currently working on numerous projects, his third novel FUR was launched in 2018.
*With Back Road Books
** With Jonathan Butcher
He has always written stories since he first learnt to write and most, although not all, tend to slip into the many layered murky depths of the Horror genre.
His influences ranged from when he first started reading to Present day are, to name but a small select few; Roald Dahl, James Herbert, Clive Barker, Stephen King, Stephen Laws, and more recently he enjoys Adam Nevill, F.R Tallis, Michael Bray, Gary Fry, William Meikle and Iain Rob Wright (who featured Matty-Bob in his famous A-Z of Horror title M is For Matty-Bob, plus Matthew wrote his own version of events which was included as a bonus).
He is a father of two, a husband of one and a zoo keeper of numerous fur babies.

If you like a good werewolf story, check out this series!
Cash’s trademark style of excellent characterization and mesmerizing storytelling is shines through in this dark tale. Like FUR, while not technically extreme horror, WERWOLF does contain extreme content. Heart-wrenching, stomach-clenching extreme content. Read FUR, then read where it all began in WERWOLF.

Most werewolf/beast stories I've read so far have been set in the US, so it was really nice to read one set in the UK.
It was also refreshing that none of the characters were 'plucky young whiz kids' or 'grizzled veterans'. The pensioners were a believable bunch, with enough back story and foibles to make them feel sympathetic - for a while at least.
Matthew (Matty-Bob) Cash's writing was good throughout, the pace never let up and the final rampage was such that no characters were safe.
I also purchased and read the prequel Werewolf, which is a short story expanding the background of one of the characters. I read the prequel first, but actually I think the story works better if you read Fur first, then the prequel for background.
I would definitely recommend this if you enjoy werewolf stories.

Although a short story, there is so much to get stuck in to, as the history of Victor Krauss's work and research unfolds. It is written in same vein as Fur, rich in visuals and excellent storytelling. Nothing is lost from the tone of Fur, as Cash brutally pulls you straight into the world of human vs animal. Again, the depth of the characters, particularly Victor Krauss, is incredible.
This is a superb short story which I highly recommend you read after you've read Fur.

One characters motivation kept me guessing till the last moment.
I’ll be start the novel FUR after this as I’m keen to see more of this world.
