Editorial Reviews

Review

I loved this book! It's tremendously exciting horror and I kept a pleased expression of satisfaction throughout. Mr. Strong has a smooth writing style, and leads the reader subtly to the horrors. Not for him is the throw the gore at the wall and watch it splatter approach. Instead, while we are quite frightened (indoors, in daytime, I still kept glancing over my shoulder and watching behind me), we readers are also treated to excellent writing talent and an enjoyable story. I knew when I read The Apartment that this is an author to watch. Exciting! - Mallory A. Haws, Haunted Reading Room Reviews
A fun read! -
J. R. Rice, Author
Anthony M. Strong's horror novel, What Vengeance Comes: A John Decker novel, has a rich and evocative setting deep in Cajun country where folks still talk of the loup-garou in whispered voices. While werewolves and other shifters have been the subject of many modern romance novels, Strong's story harkens back to early werewolf lore. His werewolf is the loup garou, a legendary French monster, who does not change involuntarily at the full moon, and who can alter form at will. Strong's town is vividly recreated for the reader, and his monster is the stuff of nightmares; fast, deadly and unstoppable. What Vengeance Comes is well-plotted and suspenseful, and Sheriff John Decker is a character I'd definitely like to see more of. This werewolf novel with a difference is highly recommended. -

The story is fast paced and spooky as hell. Lovers of horror stories will love it! -

About the Author

Anthony M. Strong is the author of the John Decker series of books, including What Vengeance Comes, Cold Sanctuary, and Crimson Deep, as well as the prequel,  Soul Catcher.

A Story Teller from the Start
Anthony's first experience terrifying an audience was when he convinced the rest of his kindergarten that a monster lived inside the school piano. They refused to enter the music room and Anthony had his first taste of the magic of story telling.  Needless to say, this obsession with all things dark and scary led to many teenaged nights reading Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and his favorite English author, James Herbert. If it had werewolves, vampires, or ghosts, Anthony read it. Now, many years on, he writes his own horror action and adventure novels in the hope that he can thrill others with his own blend of chills.

Anthony M. Strong is a British-born writer living and working in the United States. He is the author of the popular John Decker series of supernatural adventure thrillers.

Anthony has worked as a graphic designer, newspaper writer, artist, and actor. When he was a young boy, he dreamed of becoming an Egyptologist and spent hours reading about pyramids and tombs. Until he discovered dinosaurs and decided to be a paleontologist instead. Neither career panned out, but he was left with a fascination for monsters and archaeology that serve him well in the John Decker books.

Anthony has traveled extensively across Europe and the United States, and weaves his love of travel into his novels, setting them both close to home and in far-off places.

Anthony currently resides most of the year on Florida’s Space Coast where he can watch rockets launch from his balcony, and part of the year in beautiful New England, with his wife Sonya, and two furry bosses, Izzie and Hayden.
