What To Do When You Are Rejected? Kindle Edition
The world is changing. Markets have crashed. Jobs have disappeared. Industries have been disrupted and are being remade before our eyes. Everything we aspired to for “security,” everything we thought was “safe,” no longer is: College. Employment. Retirement. Government. It’s all crumbling down. In every part of society, the middlemen are being pushed out of the picture. No longer is someone coming to hire you, to invest in your company, to sign you, to pick you. It’s on you to make the most important decision in your life: Choose Yourself.
New tools and economic forces have emerged to make it possible for individuals to create art, make millions of dollars and change the world without “help.” More and more opportunities are rising out of the ashes of the broken system to generate real inward success (personal happiness and health) and outward success (fulfilling work and wealth).
This book will teach you to do just that. With dozens of case studies, interviews and examples–including the author, investor and entrepreneur James Altucher’s own heartbreaking and inspiring story–Choose Yourself illuminates your personal path to building a bright, new world out of the wreckage of the old.

Enjoyed the dark matter references and the example of leverage.
Update: I listened to this phenomenal man on an interview with Hay House. He has earned my respect and I will be reading the full book (already bought it). He talks about the school system being designed for people to succeed (get As because they get money from students success - so true). However, in the real world, you don't get the instructor's cheat sheets etc. He's started at least 20 businesses and 17 have failed. I love it! It reminds me of the book "The Power of Unpopular: A Guide to Building Your Brand for the Audience Who Will Love You (and why no one else matters)." Mass marketing/producing works by the through the power of numbers. A commercial might reach billions, but all you need is a fraction of people who buy the product to become a millionaire from sales.
He goes into a lot of other ideas that just make sense. Say no to the negative things (common sense, right?), but James puts in a way that compels you to actually say no and act on it. Also, say yes to sleep! You're neurotransmitters are repairing and building themselves. Sleep is one of the best things you can do for your health.
UPDATE: I've been utilizing ideas from this book and have since purchased Choose Yourself, which expands on the ideas presented in this work. I really like how he gets right to the heart of what he personally did to overcome typical set-backs that we all experience. His teachings really helped me and now the situation has nearly resolved, I can see it for the lesson it became and am better for having gone through that ordeal.
Being a big fan of Hay House books and authors like Wayne Dyer, I wasn't surprised to see a recent email from Hay House promoting Choose Yourself, Altucher is sure to be the next author that I will probably have all his books!
We all have to deal with rejection. We will never come to such a place in our lives where we won’t have to experience it. It is good for us to realize this fact right from the start. What can we do about rejection? “Dance with failure”. It could be useful to understand our reaction to failure, and improve it.
Sometimes, rejection means that we must quit. Sometimes, it means that we need to be more persistent, to stick to our original course. Sometimes, it means that we have to become more creative in our approach, and to improve our output. There are no universal solutions, yet we will come up with the suitable answer if we will get busy with looking for one.
Allow each act of rejection to become a lesson for you. Acceptance is sweet, yet its mind-opening potential is limited.
