This story took me a while to read. I couldn't get really interested in it until almost halfway through. There was so much that could have been left out or combined down in the first half of this book. When I finished the book, I felt like I had been robbed of half the story. She didn't tell you how Sophie liked her new environment, which was one of the reasons they choose that place. She could have taken the book to a whole other level if she just would have continued on with a couple more chapters. Part of the book was about the relationship between a special needs child and a dog, that could have been expanded on at this new place, and the lessons learned by the mother, sister, Paul and Rachel. The book was about relationships and friendships between adults, children, adult - child, and to me the greatest a person and dog. She missed her mark when she didn't expand on the last.
