Moving on to this book specifically ... we celebrate Jólabókaflóðið (Jolabokaflod or flood of books) -- the Icelandic tradition of gifting books on Christmas Eve and reading them while sipping hot chocolate -- so this is this year's pick. My son turns three in December and he is obsessed with this series. He's going to love it, and since he's still kinda hard on books and we also have a 1 year old, we decided to go with the board book version. It's the perfect size and length, the illustrations and story line are the same cadence, tone, and style as the rest of the series and it perfectly hits on all of the highlights of Christmas without being overly toned on any one subject. Santa and Santa related things is definitely the most mentioned and there is a hint at the nativity scene but no mention of Jesus for those of you who may not be religious.
The trucks mentioned are: diggers, cherry pickers, forklifts, cement mixers, cranes, tanker trucks, tow trucks, tractors, food trucks, and zambonis.
TL;DR: if you have a truck enthused kiddo and love a good Christmas book not focussed too much on any one theme, this is a perfect book. Our son is going to love reading this one for the holiday season.
My book was not damaged or bad quality in any way as some reviewers have stated. I do notice maybe the slightest bowing in it but nothing noticeable that won't work itself out by countless times reading and storing on a shelf between other books.
