She's been writing stories since she was old enough to hold a pen, and after gaining a BA Hons degree in Drama and Writing, she honed her craft with horror and fantasy shorts which are published in numerous magazines and anthologies. Angeline grew up on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon, amongst its legends and ghost stories, but now lives in central England with her husband, their two young boys, and a somewhat neurotic cat.

This story takes the reader on a journey that is unimaginable. The intrigue and twists add drama to the story. The characters are well written. I found myself immersed into this story and hopeful that this never happens in real life.

While We Were Waiting by Angeline Trevena is a wonderful story to read. This is book number two in the series and I loved reading this story. It has strong characters and a wonderful story line I can not wait to see what will be writen next.

I'm really glad Ms. Trevena strayed from her usual genres to write this book. The ideas were fresh and unique, which is a hard thing to find in post apocalyptic books these days. While the ideas behind the cause were a bit scary to imagine, Ms Trevena finds ways to let the good in people shine. That's one of the things I love about her books. Pushing boundaries with tons of heart. Her chacacters are flawed, real, and relatable. What would you do if everything you believed our world was built in was a lie? Lots of books in the post apocalyptic genre try to explore this, but this was the most mindbending, soul shaking idea I've read yet. If you haven't picked up one of her books, I strongly suggest you do. I checked her out for my love of urban fantasy, and found a great author that offers so much more. (Plus I just adore an author that doesn't throw in an over the top mushy, fake, way too fast romance to fill pages. When the ideas are great theres no need!)

Beautifully Emotive Writing

This book is so beautifully worded sometimes it physically hurt, for example: 'And when people lost hope, death felt too much like a friend.' My heart broke and I was completely floored. I've been there, done that, and got the t-shirt... and I wouldn't be the only reader.

Trevena is character-driven, and the best stories are about relationships. This is no different. All the characters in here are full, believable, and could be living in your street or even your home as they are so real. The fact that the main character, Leanne, would go out of her way, and give up her time, to help someone she didn't even know was compassion and patience at its best. Unfortunately, rarely seen in real life.

The storyline is well thought out and as changeable as the characters' moods. Fresh, emotive writing which will draw you in, hold you there, and ensure that you are fully aware of the power of love. Absolutely adored this.

I am left with very conflicting emotions over this story. There is so much pain and loss, but that’s an apocalypse. There is family and friendship, power struggles and the loss of hope. The monsters come in more than one shape with more than one desire. There is a fair bit of action, sometimes very suddenly. Well written but a little too dark for me.
