It holds quite a bit. I don't have to reload it as often as I did with my old pen.
It's very stable when loading if you use the back end as a base for the pen to rest in.
The cap does a very good job of holding in pancake batter.
Wide enough to clean easily by hand.
Easy to squeeze.
No little rubber rings to lose or trap batter.
The mixer ball just doesn't cut it with my pancake recipe. I am back to mixing in a bowl and then pouring the batter in.
There are crevices that are tough to clean on both ends.
Once you start using the pen, you can't use the bottom as a base for reloading without it being messy.
The opening is a bit large - batter comes out pretty fast compared to other pens.
I never thought I would be a pancake pen person, but years ago I purchased a pen on a whim and ended up using nearly every week. My kids LOVE pancakes. When the plastic split on it, I had to find a new pen. You just can't fit as many pancakes on the griddle when you're pouring straight from the bowl! There are definitely some advantages to this pen over my old one, especially when it comes to cleaning it and its large capacity.
I've tried using the ball to mix my batter several times, but I could never get it to mix well. It may just be that I'm using a recipe that's too thick for it (I make pancakes with whole wheat flour and flax seed meal). If you're using a store-bought mix, it may work fine.
The tip is definitely larger than other pens I've used, so it doesn't have quite the same level of control you'd find in other pancake pens. I haven't tried it with any of my pancake molds, and I'm guessing that it would be a bit trickier to use with more delicate molds. It does a great job with regular pancakes and the waffle iron, though. The body of the pen seems like it'll last quite a while.
If you want to do pancake art, go elsewhere. But if you want a pen to speed up your breakfast by getting as many pancakes onto the griddle as you can (without lots of drips on the counter), this pen will serve you well.
Just note that you must be careful not to over-tighten the tip cover or it may crack as mine did shortly after purchase.
Anywho, clean-up on our mixer was a breeze...little soap, water and a shake really did the trick.
Overall I (and my hubby) highly recommend this item. Was a fantastic price, shipping was toot-sweet and the design is definitely a winner.....BIG THANKS to the lady who created it :)
It makes it easier to store unused pancake batter, weekends are usually pancake days for me and I am a childless widower, so putting the cap back on and sticking it in the fridge is easier and less wasteful than plastic wrap. I can see where this will be good for using it for waffles too, so next time I use it I will try it with brownies in the wafflemaker.
What I don't like: Everything that goes in pancakes is light in color as is the measurement markings on the bottle, contrasting colors would be nice. The bottle itself is a bit tall so it doesn't fit on the top rack of the dishwasher as easy as it should, and inch shorter would make for a smaller capacity, but would make it easier to fit in the dishwasher. The pancakes did not come out as light and fluffy as when I make the same recipe by hand, maybe I just need to let the batter rest a little before cooking, so will see with tomorrow's pancakes.

C'est pratique mais pas de lave vaisselle pour info...
The wide opening is more than enough to pour ingredients in without struggling.
I didn't have to add extra milk as the nozzle was large enough for the batter to flow. I was worried as the recipe I use is not thin.
The dispenser was able to make both large and small pancakes.
Clean up is easy as advertised, use top rack of dish washer.
Also because there wasn’t enough batter in the container it was very difficult to get enough weight to push the pancakes out through the nozzle. So that was a loss. This would be good as a novelty for families. If you’re using at least 2 cups of flour I suspect the product will work well. However it didn’t work for me. However I reused the stainless steel ball which I now just use to with a round Tupperware container and get great results so that was pretty helpful.
Good for families who want to make pancake mixing an event. However bear in mind you may lose a lot of batter so perhaps another option may be a better alternative.
