Director Ringo Lam attempts a romantic movie, and it doesn't fit
I am a huge fan of Ringo Lam's movies, but this attempt to mix human interest with a stereotypical Hong Kong gangster drama contains far too many clichees, even including the hot-head cop who is disciplined for going after the big-time gangster, and the hit man who mounts a vendetta at the hot-head cop. And, of course, a cute four-year-old girl who bonds with the cop. The pace is often slow, and there's barely a trace of the ruthless realism of "School on Fire," let alone the intensity and cynicism of "Full Contact." It's hard to believe that the director really wanted to make this movie.

really touches your heart
generally an above average movie, except for the most touching scene in the movie where the grandfather punishes the little girl by hidding her behind bundles of dried twigs(tree branches used for firewood) and locking her in the barn all for just crying. watch it and you will realise the subtleties of human emotions.

This is a great movie...forget the other reviews.
This movie shows the soft and caring of CYF. It is a must have if you are a CYF fan. This movie is one of my favorite CYF films....it truly is a good movie.
