Layla aka LJ has moved back to Baltimore after having lived in Philadelphia for way too long. LJ and her family had been living in B'more until her mother's untimely death. Her father moved the family back to Philadelphia to be closer to his family after this. Raising five children alone can be rather daunting so it made sense. For LJ though it meant leaving behind her best friend at the time, Finn. When LJ broke up long time boring fiance in Philadelphia, she decides it is time to take charge of her own life and buys a coffee shop in B'more. After all, her brothers loved her fiance more than LJ ever did which says a lot.
Finn and his cousin have been growing their new security business and it has taken off. And Finn has been living off coffee from the local coffee shop since sleep is a luxury. He is pleasantly surprised when he discovers his old friend LJ is not only working there but actually owns the shop. The two start to reconnect but Finn doesn't tell his best friend, Miguel, much about LJ. Well, he does tell him he is meeting up with a childhood friend named LJ but leaves out the important fact that LJ is female.
Like all cities, B'more has crime. And sadly Layla's coffee shop gets held up by an idiot who holds her up with a gun wearing a clown mask. Miguel is one of the cops who responds to the call and the attraction is pretty instant between these two. Because Layla is pretty upset and normally walks to work, Miguel is kind and drives her home and makes sure that she is safe. Plus he finds a way for the two of them to meet up later.
Neither Miguel nor Finn realize they are both dating the same woman until they all accidentally meet up at the family pub. Miguel is pissed off at Finn for not telling him that LJ is really a female and her real name is Layla. Finn is pissed off because Miguel has been dating LJ and that LJ didn't tell him about the coffee shop being robbed while he was out of town. Layla is very observant and realizes there more going on as well. She catches on to the fact that Miguel is very into Finn but Finn isn't sure what to feel or do about his attraction to Miguel. Her solution is for them all to kiss. And than to have a wonderful menage since well she is wanting to expand her sexual horizons.
Of course simple plans can backfire and oh boy does this one back fire on Layla, Finn, and Miguel. Yep, things get complicated as only Mari Carr can create. (And she is very devious as well.) Be prepared to have your panties melt, swoon, fall in love, and want to move to B'more in hopes of your own Miguel and Finn. Okay maybe without some of the drama.
I did receive a copy of this novel in advance from the author in exchange for an honest unbiased review. But to be honest, it is always fun being able to tell Mari Carr how devious she really can be.
Layla moves back to Baltimore to get away from her overprotective family and start over after a long term relationship fizzles out. She vows to start having some fun and embrace her wilder side. She reconnects with her childhood friend, Finn.
Finn is starting to think he'd like to give the Collins' "curse" of love a try and find that someone special, like so many of his cousins have. But he'd need to find a girl first. Or does he? Finn's long time buddy, Miguel has been flirting with him harder than ever and Finn starts to wonder if, even though he loves women, he could love Miguel that way.
Miguel always wanted a large family. Things were rough growing up and now he is a police officer. He admires what his friend, Finn's, family has. He has realized that his feelings for his long-time friend have grown into something deeper. But when he meets Layla while working on a string of robberies, he is smitten.
When the three of them realize their connection, Finn and Miguel wonder if maybe they can help Layla explore her wild side while they explore their feelings for each other.
This book is 3-alarm fire hot. The relationship is sweet. But when they reach Layla's self-imposed expiration date will they be able to move on?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wild Side brings us back to the magic of the threesome and how each of the members gets to that place realizing this is for them. We've already met Finn and Miguel, best friends who may be on the precipice of more, if they could take those steps. Then Layla comes to town and both men find themselves attracted to her, as she does to them. But Layla's ready for a little walk on the Wild Side, nothing permanent, just some fun, and what could be more fun than a threesome? ;)
As always, Mari brings us a heartwarming, emotional, and very sexy story. I fell in love with these three characters as they took their own journey toward finding happiness and love. Of course, any trip back to the Collins world means seeing the other Collins characters. We get to catch up with Colm (I'm going to need his story pronto) and Padraig (I still cry), Kelli and Darcy (ditto on the whole story thing), Riley and Aaron. Of course, PopPop is front and center <3. I think my favorite parts of these books is the beginning and ending scenes with PopPop, I just love him.
Overall, another amazing book in the series, although each book is one book closer to the end of the Collins' saga, you definitely don't want to miss the ride!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review, however I have also pre-ordered the book.
It was well written. The characters were very well developed. The romance was beautiful and the sex was spicy!!
This isn’t just a story about two heroes in love with a heroine. It’s also a story about the heroes and their love for each other. It was refreshing to see.
I thought that there would be more angst but I was wrong. I thought that the characters would have a tough time dealing with their feelings but once they committed they were all in.
I definitely recommend!!

No potential triggers.
Another lovely instalment in the life of the Collins family, this time with Finn.
Mari Carr certainly knows how to write a good romance, with fully rounded characters and a decent plotline.
It is aimed at an adult audience, with plenty of sex scenes between three consenting adults, some with a slight D/s kink.
A great little escape from reality.
