About William Alan Webb
Bill grew up in West Tennessee, riding his bike on narrow rural roads lined with wild blackberry bushes, in the days before urban sprawl. He spent those long rides dreaming of new worlds of adventure. Childhood for him was one interesting activity after another, from front yard football to naval miniatures, but from the very beginning reading was the central pillar of his life.
Any and all military history books fascinated him, beginning before age 8. By his teenage years he had discovered J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert E. Howard, Robert Heinlein and Fritz Leiber. Teachers ripped comic books out of his hands during Spanish and Accounting class. Oops!
After majoring in Creative Writing in college, he turned to writing history and non-fiction and was published a number of times, including in World War Two magazine.
In September of 2014 he wrote the first pages of what would become Standing The Final Watch, and its prequels and sequels in the Last Brigade Universe. Thus, at age 60, his career in fiction had just begun.
Still living in West Tennessee with his wife of 42 years and 8 dogs, four of which are Search and Rescue certified police dogs, life has turned out better than he could ever have dreamed. Yet Bill never forgets that it is you, his readers, who make this possible. There is a covenant between writer and reader that is always uppermost in his mind. Readers who spend their time and money to read an author's works, deserve the best that author has to offer, and he never forgets that.
Bill is proud to be a member of the International Authors of Science Fiction Authors, the Science Fiction Writers of America, the Society For Military History and the Alliance of Independent Authors. For 80 years, Nick Angriff and Tom Steeple have battled to make competing visions for America a reality, but no battle can last forever. Now, the future for a resurrected America is settled in one final wave of violence that might see freedom snuffed out once and for all.
When Jace and Pard run into the vicious Warlord of Kansas City, King KaMo, blood and death quickly follow. As cunning as he is deadly, KaMo's position is nearly unassailable, but the duo must find a way to save the lives of their friends and families from a man with no enemies strong enough to hurt him.
That is, until he catches the attention of the 7th US Cavalry Brigade (Reinforced), and has to deal with members of Task Force Zombie.
Fifty years after The Collapse, while the 7th Cavalry fights for its life in the old American Southwest, east of the Mississippi River the stirrings of exploration drive two men to head west across the ravaged landscape. Jase and Pard know that if remnants of American society survived in the hills of Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina, they had to live on elsewhere, too, and they set off on a journey to find a better life.
Accompanied by a select group of friends and family, they know hardships await. What they didn't plan on was that if the best of humanity was still out there somewhere, so was the worst.
As long as the United States Constitution stood as a symbol of liberty and justice, worldwide authoritarians could never rest easy. The innate Human yearning to be free would forever threaten the iron heels under which they crushed their own people. Fueled by hatred of all that America stood for, the gathering of enemies who conspired to destroy her unwittingly unleashed a wave of worldwide destruction that engulfed their own nations. When America collapsed, most of the world crumbled with her.
In Europe, Asia, South America and Africa, invasion followed invasion, war followed war, leaving a broken world of ruin to those who are Standing Fast On Foreign Shores.
They are America's first Death Ops team, sacrificing everything to shield their country from danger. But after a 'Succeed-or-Die' mission into Egypt to kill an Austrian arms dealer, the man who sold Stinger missiles to the terrorists who attacked the US Embassy in Benghazi, the Nameless men and women of Task Force Zombie finds themselves next on their own government's hit list.
Corrupt officials want them dead to cover up their own involvement in facilitating the sale of the Stingers, and what better way to cover up their crimes than to send Task Force Zombie on a suicide mission...into Iran. What those officials didn't understand was that highly trained, disciplined and motivated men and women aren't so easy to kill.
Led by the taciturn man known only as Green Ghost, the Zombies must either betray their oath, refuse orders, or face near-certain death. The one thing working in their favor is the patronage of their founder...Lt. General Nicholas T. Angriff.
Lt. General Nick Angriff has spent his adult life protecting family and country from a world of terrorism spinning out of control. On the battlefield, off the grid, in clandestine special task forces and outright black ops, Angriff never wavers from duty. But when a terror attack on Lake Tahoe kills his family, he’s left with only the corrosive acid of revenge… that is, until a hated superior officer reveals the deepest of all secret operations. Against the day of national collapse, a heavily-armed military unit rests in cryogenic storage, to be awakened when needed, and Angriff is named its commander.
Fifty years later he wakes to find the USA destroyed and predatory warlords roaming the ruins. Stalked by assassins bent on seizing his command for their own purposes, Angriff has to prepare for war while avoiding murder.
Because the only wall still shielding survivors from slavery and death are the men and women of The Last Brigade.
There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.
Bounty hunting is one of those morally gray areas that exist at the periphery of civil society. Few people know anyone whose job it is to find and retrieve fugitives, and bring them before the courts. In the future, however, one can envision any number of ways of how bounty hunting can be used (or abused) for any number of problems. Alien monsters haunting your space station? Bring in a team of hunters, and watch the double-crosses fly. Indentured workers flee ‘the system’ for the safety and anonymity of the Underhive? Facial recognition and some DNA sampling might help you find them. On the flip side of the coin, what if you were born wanted, and have been on the run your whole life?

When Nikki Bauer declares war on the gang who killed her mother, she finds herself hunted not only by their vengeful friends, but also by the corrupt Memphis Police Director who runs the gang. In desperation, she calls the one person who might be able to save her from a violent and painful death, her brother Green Ghost, the leader of Task Force Zombie.
In Africa, preparing for a vital mission to attack a meeting of important terrorists, Green Ghost cannot ignore his sister's plea for help. But the scale of the corruption is beyond what he expected, and the forces arrayed against them too deadly to fight without help. Fortunately, he can call on the deadliest special operations team in the world for help.
It's Zombie time!
For four long years, Early Johnson and Angela Martinelli led the fight as America slid farther and farther into the abyss of chaos. They fought to stop more nuclear terrorist attacks like the one that triggered America's collapse, they fought biological attacks designed to wipe out survivors, and they fought the predatory human traffickers who swooped into the chaos to find new victims.
But no matter how hard they and their colleagues tried to stop The Collapse, and regardless of how much they struggled to hold together the fabric of American society, there were just too many enemies who saw their chance to destroy her once and for all. One thing about heroes, though… they never give up.
With America teetering on the brink of total dissolution, Early and Martinelli race to save what they can while they can. Along with a small band of friends, they are determined to preserve America by salvaging chaos, if not for them, then for future generations. And woe be unto anyone who tries to stop them.
There is a reason they called themselves The Nameless. Having given up their ranks, their families, their friends, even their own names, they know each other only by code names such as Judge, Isaiah and Esther. They collectively voted to name their Special Operations unit Task Force Zombie, because what are Zombies except the resurrected dead? And when you're already written off as dead, nobody mourns if you die again.
Now, with First Squad reeling after the heavy losses suffered in the Congo during Standing The Final Watch, and Second Squad, it's time for Third Squad to bear the brunt of a mission into the heart of darkness. When the CIA picks up hard evidence of a meeting between Iran, North Korea and China, and a smorgasbord of terrorist organizations, with the aim of directing attacks against America, it's time for Judge to lead Third Squad into the fire.
The world thinks they are dead. America’s enemies wish it was true. They are the rough men and women ready to commit violence on our behalf. They are the Nameless members of Task Force Zombie.
America’s enemies in the War on Terror don’t respect borders and don’t play by any rules. The SEALs, Delta Force, MARSOC, and USAF Special Operations Command comprise our front line against those who want to spill the blood of the innocent. But after the Benghazi Embassy attack, a notorious Austrian arms dealer who sold the terrorists American Stingers takes refuge in Egypt and there is nothing the U.S. military can do about it. Sending in conventional special forces would be an act of war. That’s when Task Force Zombie gets the call.
Somebody high up in the American government wants that Austrian arms dealer dead, to cover up their own complicity in the sale of the Stingers. Whoever it is wants the Zombies to kill the arms dealer… but never to make it home again. The first book in the series features the origins of Green Ghost, Vapor, Claw, Wingnut, and all of the other Zombies… including Adder.
