WITCHING FIRE delivers a heart pounding, action packed ride from start to finish. What thrills me in this latest release in the Ante-Fae Adventures/Wild Hunt Series novel is how the decisions Raven makes in this book will affect not just her but also her friends and family as well. It gave me shivers reading this latest release from one of my favorite authors and I can not recommend this series enough for those who enjoy high octane adventure set in a world filled with paranormal/fantasy creatures and humanity that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end of each book. What amazes me with this author’s books is how intricate the world building this author does for each of her series/books. We get to meet new characters in WITCHING FIRE, and it opens up a whole new world to explore in the future for the Wild Hunt/Ante-Fae Adventures series.
What I really enjoy is all the character growth this author gives her characters and as I remember meeting Raven way back in book four, A Shadow of Crows, she has come a long way from that initial meeting to now and I love how she has gown as a character into her own with WITCHING FIRE. The story flows fast and furious as the action just hits the ground running and I couldn’t put this one down. I think I read this book in less than two hours as I was enthralled to see where the author would take me in this story. With each book in this series, the author continues to deliver a wild and captivating ride from start to finish. If you haven’t checked out this series before, I highly recommend starting right from the beginning in The Silver Stag, which is free from the author at the moment and settle in for one wild and highly entertaining ride from start to finish. Now I can not wait to see how book seventeen, Veil of Stars ends this portion of the story ARC and I am really hoping she continues this series in one way or another as I would love to see what the characters are up against as after their lives changed so much.
There were one or two threads that I would have liked to see fleshed out more, but that ultimately doesn’t matter. Raven does a whole bunch of growing as a person, or should I say as a witch, in this book.
And, not to give anything away, but I thought the end of the book was brilliant.
We travel to a lot of different places as we follow Raven around, and there’s some really evocative scene setting.
Just a really satisfying read overall.

This book is an Ante-Fae adventure and as in previous books, it stars Raven Bonetalker. Raven gets devastating news and faces perils she didn't even know existed. She's caught up in a vortex of change, Fate speeding her along without reprieve. In saving a friend of her dear friend Vixen, Raven discovers a path that is going to lead to great changes for her. There are unknowns but there's opportunity and excitement too.
Raven learns who her true friends are and that betrayal can come from anywhere. She learns a few new things about her gargoyle Raj and I love learning about him. In fact, he is one of my favourite parts of the series. I wish there was another book coming that would give the reader more details about Raj because he's a fascinating being. But the next two novels are to be the last abd they focus on Ember(half light face, half dark fae, soon-to-be goddess, and engaged to a God) and Herne(Lord of the Hunt, a God). The ferrets also make a few appearances. One of the things that makes Raven such a loveable character is her devotion to these spirits-trapped-in-ferrets and Raj. I do wish that Raj was more in the spotlight so that we could discover more about his lineage and abilities and what happened to him.
Change is inevitable and Raven is prepared to face it head on. There won't be any more novels starring Raven as the series is coming to an end, but at least her fans get to see a bit of the path she is about to take.
