Witching for Moxie: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel: Premonition Pointe, Book 5 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Iris Hartman thought she’d finally gotten everything she’d ever wanted. She had her dream job of mayor of Premonition Pointe and was married to a handsome, charismatic man who adored her. But after finding out her husband was involved with a local drug dealer, she suddenly found herself single and forced to step down as mayor. Now she’s starting over. But when a curse hits Premonition Pointe and tourism dries up, turning the beach town into a ghost town, Iris will do anything to save the village she loves, even if it means leaning on a new man in her life.
With the help of the local coven and a too-good-too-be-true neighbor, Iris’ new beginning means tapping into magic she didn’t know she had and maybe even learning to trust again.

I have lots of favorite authors in this genre. Many of them I have read for years as they have written about romance and magic for quite some time. Deanna Chase is definitely one of those authors. But I have never related as well to any characters in her books as I do to the women of Premonition Pointe! With this series I have laughed as one character wishes her cheating husband and his mistress get a bad STD and discovers her wishes are magically enabled,so they come true! I have cried as women of the Pointe have lost everything they held dear, only to smile that with age and a bit of magic, they gain an even better life than they thought possible. Deanna writes with such understanding of what is like to be us, her words are magic. Reading this series has transported me to another place or time, where wishes do come true and women like me are loved and cared for because of their wisdom and experience.
Witching For Moxie, book 5 in the series, is every bit as exciting and magical as Ms. Chase's previous novels. In this novel another women in town joins the coven. However, unlike the rest, she has believed that she has no special magic. Yet, suddenly with hot flashes, a cheating spouse, divorce and unemployment, comes a magic so strong, it is overwhelming.
With magic, there comes even more importantly, a group of friends that will stand by her through thick and thin. That is the real story behind Premonition Pointe. The story that Deanna Chase tells so well. The story of finding true friends and keeping them close. To quote one of those women in this novel "“I think we’ve all reached a point in our lives that when we find someone we connect with and trust, we don’t let them go." To women of a "certain age " this is the real magic in our lives, finding other women we connect to emotionally and spiritually and holding on to them no matter what.
The need for friends and fulfilling that need is the happily ever after in Deanna Chases's special Premonition Pointe series. Again , in Witching For Moxie, she keeps us holding on to the very end, through many twists and turns, until in the end with the strength of her friends behind her, the main character finds her moxie and happily ever after.
What can I say? You need to read this book, this series, and you too will believe their is magic in hot flashes and hormone changes!
However, I love how Ms. Chase adds a snippet in the end of the book that primes you for the next one.... And boy does THAT book look incredible!!!
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Of course the friendship between the coven members are a big part of this series, but what would a Premonition Pointe be without a little romance? Iris is newly divorced but when she meets her new next door neighbor she considers love again. I love the romance between these two characters!
Of course the mystery brings forth a lot more than who cursed the town. Iris's childhood plays an integral part of the mystery, bringing in Iris' mother, her deceased father, and her last (and in her opinion only) step father. It helps to explain some things that happened in her childhood, and helps to begin the rebuilding of her relationship with her mother. Of course her ex husband, Tom, is also back.
I loved this book so much that once again when I was done I ordered the next book in the series, Witching For Kismet, where we'll find another member of the coven meet someone new. Or someone not so new. If you love the new(ish) Paranormal Women's Fiction novels, where women "of a certain age" are the heroine's, you'll love this book and this series, I would buy it NOW! I'm not going to lie, these books have taken a lot of my reading time lately!
I really enjoyed getting to know Iris better. In previous novels she was a fringe character and seemed pretty one dimensional. It was great to watch her round out, see the layers that make her a fleshed out character come to life.
I eagerly await each release & this latest trip to Premonition Point was no exception! Always 5 star fun!
