I sometimes have a hard time connecting with the FMC in stories. A lot of times they are written to be too aggressive and snarky and other’s they are written to be a bit too weak and sort of a pushover and a complete slave to their hormones. With that being said, I connected pretty well with Ivy. She’s not a push over at all, but she also isn’t so much of a snarky female that she comes across as a bit of a witch (with a B – thanks amazon). She’s dominant and clearly alpha in her own right, despite having not known she was a wolf shifter for most of her life. I’m a little unclear on how that stayed hidden for so long (especially with some of the things that happened and pushed Ivy in Riley’s story). I’m sure it will be made clear in the upcoming books.
When her (adoptive) parents die she decides to move to the place she was supposedly born to see if she can find some answers into her past. Shortly having moving there she meets Cole, an alpha wolf that drawn to her. I mean, he basically kidnaps her but then she ends up staying. That’s simplifying it A LOT because I’m trying to not give away too many spoilers. It turns out that she’s Cole’s mate as well as his best friend, Eli’s mate (and self-proclaimed omega). Cole is what you would expect from a growly alpha wolf shifter. He’s pushy and dominant and possessive. Eli is sweet, thoughtful, loves to cook and garden…but he’s also strong. I absolutely love the dynamic that Ivy has with Eli once they get together. Normally I’m drawn more to the alpha jerks but in this story I find myself completely infatuated with Eli. However, I feel like that will change with the next few books in the series. The minute Xander showed up in this book I just FELT something. I am dying to know more of his story and aching for that poor broken man to get some affection and love. The first book geared up for a MM relationship between Xander and Eli to come. This is the reason I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5. I honestly, truly LOVED that Salinity Cove didn’t have any MM relationships within her harem. Sometimes I love the MM aspect within reverse harem series and sometimes I don’t. Since all of Maya Nicole’s series tend to have it I mostly expect it. When I read Salinity Cove and discovered that there wasn’t any MM in it, I have to say, I was honestly happy about that. It was truly refreshing. I was really hoping this new wolf shifter series wouldn’t really have any in it either. And with Eli being an omega, I was just really hoping his character wouldn’t go that route. I can’t really find the right words, but for some reason, it felt disappointing to have his specific character be the one to start a MM relationship…kind of like, it’s expected because he’s the omega and is supposed to take care of others so it was just the easy route. I think maybe having Silas be one of the guys in the harem interested in MM would have been better – alpha jerk of the rival pack.
Anyway, that being said I love this book and I love this new series. I am extremely excited to see what happens next in this series.
This was an amazing novel, I could not put it down and automatically. went for the next book in the series, only to find it’s due out in a few days
Certainly, a shifter storyline but being approached from an angle not really approached before, so you are waiting to find out the facts and history behind the “Forgotten Wolf” only to realise you have to keep reading, surely the answer should be just around the corner yeh?? ( maybe )
Ivy who knew absolutely nothing about shifters suddenly finds herself knee deep in them so for someone who has previously stayed very much in the background with little to no involvement with the male species shifter or human, she finds herself drawn to them and as such, she is exploring a side of her personality she never knew existed. This leaves the door open for so many different possibilities.
Being part of an mythical species is certainly difficult but when it’s not even in your language to say her eyes were opened into the world of the paranormal with no warning causes her head to go a little loopy, she does everything she can to learn about her new world without trying to cause to much drama.
For Ivy that is rather difficult because she attracts trouble no matter what she does.
A superbly constructed plot with plenty of fast paced action and never ending dramatic twists to Ivy’s daily lifestyle with different shifters being drawn to this strong determined woman who will not be controlled by anyone. As much as this is a challenge to a number of the pack I do believe they have their hands full with Ivy. Lol
When living under a specific heighrachy and refuse to follow protocol you are easily the reason why a great deal of frustration, frayed nerves and conflict occurs around Ivy and the other pack.
This novel finds you trying to see where this is all leading, but this author has tied all loose ends up Beautifully so yep!! We are kept guessing.
If you enjoy reading books that are outside of the norm then you are going too love this and will find yourself as confused as the central character Ivy.
I am now waiting with baited breath for the next book in this amazing series.
Ivy is strong, resilient, and steadfast. She’s also stubborn, jaded and sarcastic. She’s thrown into a life she hadn’t known and at first she struggles to accept it but eventually she gives in. The chemistry is dynamite between her and the guys and I like how they all don’t know each other and even kind of hate some. It will be amazing when it all collided.
Cole is the ultimate growly a-hole. You just know he exudes the ability to make you quiver. Eli is sweet and I like what’s developing between him and Zander. Excited to learn more about the other two and how it will all fit together.
Intriguing story. Betrayal and steam keep you turning the pages. Multiple POV. RH PNR. Med-high steam and I’m guessing future MM. let’s hope. Me likey.

I thought this was a great introduction to Ivy's own series and can't wait to find out all the answers. Maya builds up the questions and focuses on slowly building Ivy's connections. I'll pre-warn you that it does end on a good cliffy!
As a baby Ivy was left abandoned and when her perents died she went on to tey find her birth parents. Along the way she meets Cole, who she is immediately taken with although he's a bit of an ass and can't understand why she is attracted to him so much.
During her birthday celebrations something happens to Ivy but she doesn't want to believe what has happened. With Cole by her side and another 3 males entering her life will she finally understand who she is and why she was abandoned?
After Ivy’s parents are killed in a car crash on the way to her graduation, Ivy’s whole world comes crashing down when she finds out she is adopted. Determined to find out who she is she moves to Arbor Falls, the place she was abandoned, to find answers. Her search is slow until she meets Cole and when an accident triggers her first shift Ivy is horrified to learn she is a wolf shifter.
with plenty of mysteries, intreague and steam and ending on a cliffhanger i can't wait to read the next book.
