I was very young when this movie came out 1984 and even though this movie was a remake of a French classic (I didn’t know that at the time) it was still to adult for me to watch; but it was the soundtrack that caught my ears...

The collaboration between Stevie wonder and Dionne warwick was a sight to behold and, “Its you” still catches my ears even now.
The movie is still holds as funny and witty with Gene Wilder In his charismatic role since haunted honeymoon and blazing saddles; he has a genuine charm that is sutible for this role as Theo Pierce a man who’s having a mid life crisis of sorts and is trying to find adventure in his mundane life; he feels disconnected from his semi crazy wife Didi played by Judith ives (who her daughters BF might have feelings for...), his friends are playboys all to themselves, and his career is stilted but he does what he can. Well all that changes when I’m a parking lot a sexy and vibratious woman comes in red and imitates a Marilyn Monroe moment which is every bit as hot her name is Charlotte played by the ever so sexy (at the time) pre ‘Weird science’ Kelly le Brock.

While not spoiling a 30-something year old movie, lets just say he gets his wish for adventure but at a very funny cost/climax. But the journey is every bit as interesting; I don’t know if there will ever be another reboot or remake I don’t think it would match the charm and sentimentality as this movie created but I would love to see Hollywood try.

This is a definite classic to have as part of your collection.

This movie from 1984 has buddy humor better suited to 1954, but humor is too strong a word. Gene Wilder embarrasses himself with this one. Plot elements often make no sense. His character is not likeable, and that's not intentional. It might have worked in some other writer and director's hands, but the concept of middle-aged guys bugging their eyes out like cartoon characters at sexy dames, and then doing everything possible to cheat with them seems dated from the first scene. I respected him more before I saw this.

That said, you might love it. Seems like a lot of Amazon viewers do.

one of the most boring time wasting movies you could ever watch. the whole movie is about a gorgeous girl letting some ugly troll bang her. which would never happen in real life , not even in the 80s, especially under these circumstances. so many scenes added in that are pointless and tries so hard to be funny but falls flat. at the end he doesnt even bang her, after all of that . thought in real life he probably did bang her , probably why the movie was made to begin with. its supposed to have some cheeseball moral about how cheating is wrong. meantime the movie ends too soon. because in the story as soon as his wife finds out the truth she will leave him anyway, even though he didnt bang her he was about to before her husband came home early.

"The Woman In Red," is a silly film, which smacks of vaudevillian antics. It is about a married man who is besotted with a beautiful woman who also happens to be married--and in one scene she wears a red dress.

It was nice to see Gilda Radner who looked lovely in this film. And also the youthful Charles Grodin who put in a good performance as he always does in whatever film he is in.

This film is a waste of time.

When a friend told me this was his favorite movie of all time I knew what I had to get him for his birthday. I couldn't find it anywhere but so happy to see it sold on Amazon. Great price, arrived quickly and in excellent condition. My friend was so happy to receive this movie, he hadn't seen it in over 15 years.

Gene Wilder is(was) a comedic genius. This movie is not funny.
I had to stop at the shaving with the jacket on scene(~20 min). It might improve considerably but it's not worth the time to find out.
Besides ithink I saw this ~ 30 years ago but don't recall much because it was not funny then either iguess.

2.0 out of 5 starsVery disappointing

I am a big Gene Wilder fan; I've seen or own just about all of his films. I hadn't seen this one, though, so I decided to rent it and give it a shot. Very disappointing. The characters leave much to be desired, the plot really never goes anywhere, and there is no inherent meaning behind the story. The only reason that I gave it two stars is because Gene Wilder is in it and does a god job of acting. Otherwise, the film stinks and I would not watch it again.

Speaking of sexual innuendos, this movie has some, but few real laughs. About dumb guys who have a bad marriage, mainly because they're dumb guys.
