Richard Osman is a creative director for Endemol UK. He has worked as an executive producer on numerous shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats and 10 O'Clock Live. Richard rose to fame presenting Pointless with Alexander Armstrong. Richard's popularity and tremendous knowledge of trivia led to him presenting his own BBC quiz, Two Tribes along with Insert Name Here and Child Genius. He is also a regular on panel shows such as Have I Got News For You and writes a column for the Radio Times.

Years ago, to keep my students entertained on a lunch period we decided to create the ‘League of Biscuits’. We measured he varies qualities of each biscuit – texture, dunkability, taste and we decided that the best biscuit is the ginger nut – not the favourite biscuit but it is the best.

For distance 'garden get togethers' and to lighten the Lockdown mood, this book has been brilliant!
I don't understand some reviewers who have 'read' this book. It is not a book for reading as such, but as the basis for having fun discussion following Osman's guidelines. His own observations add to the amusement and arguments.
For example, he said the worst chocolate bar was a Topic. What??? That was near the top of our list!
We have done a number over the weeks - and made up our own - eg The World Cup of Beatles songs this week!

A great book that is a lot of fun for a good while! On average, it takes us about 30 minutes to do each "World Cup" and I use them with our youth group as a different icebreaker as we love to argue about our favourite type of biscuit/crisp/Disney film. It was particularly good for the price as there are so many examples and it can be adapted for so many more. Would definitely recommend
