The West was not so wild for Janie Fitzhugh. Living with her rancher husband, Abe Lawson, in rural Wyoming nearly broke her spirit, so she left. But eight years later, she returns to Muddy Gap to take a job at a new resort. When an unexpected danger arises, Abe seizes the chance to protect Janie and prove he's a changed man.
Janie's employer at the Split Rock Ranch and Resort, Renner Jackson, has gotten himself tangled up in a devil's bargain trying to finish the construction. His new partner's daughter, Tierney Pratt, is a spoiled daddy's girl and off-limits-no matter how drop-dead gorgeous she is. But Tierney's got her own secret reasons for keeping the rough-and-tumble cowboy at a distance.
When things get down and dirty at the resort, Abe and Renner must saddle up and fight to rope in the women they can't imagine living without.

If you haven't been to Wyoming or if you live there this story is real. Lorelei has a real feel for the people and the land.
Abe and Janie's triumphant return to each other is one of the best books written about the return of a immature love to grown-up and realistic love. It is diffidently worth reading.
It makes sense that Ms. James would put them together because both guys are very similar so far as their insecurities, sexual desires, and goals to better themselves. The women are both fierce women in their careers and personalities, both women are in Wyoming to make a life change, and both women like to be dominated in the bedroom, kitchen, desk, and or barn.
Wrangled and Tangled is both warm hearted and steamy hot. You'll get the family and community love. You will feel the rage Tierney has when Renner' s smart mouth won't stop flapping. You will feel Janie' s regrets and doubts as she comes back in her ex-husband, Abe' s life, and has to depend on him again. You will also laugh out loud some times, possibly shed a tear, and definitely get hot and bothered on more occasion than one. If you're not ready to get sucked into the lives of the Muddy Gap community in Wyoming then don't get this book because that is exactly what will happen if you begin reading any of the Blacktop Cowboy series.
I'm a super big fan of Lorelei James. When she has a new release, I simply click to buy on my Amazon account. I don't even read the book blurb. There are only a handful of authors that have that sort of status to me. In my opinion, nobody writes cowboy romance like Lorelei James.
Wrangled and Tangled was such a great book but I have to admit, I was annoyed with the two romance stories in one book. That approach didn't bother me in her book Rode Hard, Put Up Wet. But it really annoyed me in Wrangled and Tangled. Both stories were excellent but I didn't want to keep up with the ping ponging between each of their stories. I'd get really engrossed with Renner and Tierney and then BAM, next chapter was Abe and Janie. I felt like I constantly had to re-warm up to the couples over and over again.
The stories themselves were excellent. So much so that if I read Rennie and Tierney or Abe and Janie had their own book, I would have rated 5 hearts each. But with the constant back and forth, it downgraded the flow of the book for me.
Wrangled and Tangled starts off with Abe and Janie's story. The previously married couple meet up again when Janie returns to the Split Rock Resort. Old feeling resurface and both tread carefully. It was a great plot line on how Lorelei James had Janie temporarily move back into Abe's home and a great turn of events that kept Janie at the family home.
I appreciated how Abe did a lot of admission that he was not the best husband first time around and it wasn't until an excellent confrontation by Abe near the end of the book that Janie finally realizes that she too was not the best wife. I was seriously cheering Abe on while reading that speech. Go Abe!
Rennie and Tierney was my favourite couple story of the book. I loved that Teirney wore glasses and was smart yet inexperienced. It was awesome reading how they constantly battled each other and then all that passion finally bubbled to the surface. Keeping their passionate affair discreet lead to interesting locked door meetings and google eyes across the rooms.
Each of the couples had smoking hot intimate scenes and I enjoyed reading how their love for each other bloomed perfectly for each couple.
