If you know how far a gangster has to go to prove his authority, To maintain his respect with violence then you're gonna love this movie , This film has a little bit Of a soprano Feeling to it and I think the acting was just Perfect All the characters were played quite well They fit the roles perfectly. This film is completely Underrated people forget that your life can easily be changed by the situations these characters get put in. That's what made this film so good for me

I see some of these reviewers going on about how this movie is sooo bloody and violent, trust me there are others far worse than this one. To me, it is pretty minimal with just a bit more in the end, but still even that isn't all that much considering the type of genre this movie is. Don't watch a mafia style movie or for that matter, war and gang related and not expect a lot of violence - seriously. It's sad Ferrer's talents are forever gone, he was a fine actor, in my opinion far better than his cousin, Clooney. As for Gooding Jr., sorry, but he just doesn't fit in this genre. Even his facial expressions look forced while trying to be the tough guy. Overall, a decent movie, many parts drag, but it's okay, could've been better.

Great cast, excellent acting, and quite the ambiance. Not a "complex" story, but what do you expect? It's a vengeance tale that reveals more and more as it develops. It doesn't have to be "deep," because it tells the fairly simple tale so well. Raw and gnarly, and Gooding Jr. is totally believable. Well, all the acting is. Don't look for "redemptive" elements here. It's just a long look into the dark. But, somehow, by the end you feel that you understand something of more depth. Well worth the ride!

I like the 5.1 surround. I like 16:9 but this one is 2.35 which is theater quality. I like the violence. I like the shooting and use of knives. Seems criminals have a penchant for killing; they will even kill other criminals and even persons on their own team. This is the fifth in a row that was 5.1; with violence this is another Amazon Prime Video recommendation that is right on the mark.

The characters really didn't need a lot of back story; they were that good. Production value was quality. Cuba Gooding Jr. plays Joshua, an enforcer for a gangster played by Ferrer. A drug addict who believes he was abducted by space aliens tells a lie and sets in motion a series of actions involving Joshua and his boss. Ferrer's revenge escalates a mini-gang war.

This is a good movie if you liked Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. If not (if you're the type that likes drama), then skip it. Plenty of gun play in this one and there's blood, gore and the single-mindedness of criminals.

Some say Gooding Jr. is miscast as a criminal enforcer. I say he's expanding his repertoire. There are a couple of subplots in this film that explain a lot of the motivation for the characters' actions. Very well acted and quite realistic. And not one puke scene!

Its got some decent (not great but decent) action 'n gore and a bunch of scummy bad guys with slightly lighter colored "black hats" go and kill 'n revenge a bunch of more scummy badder guys with really "black hats." Cuba Gooding sulks around with faces, ticks, and looks that are all familiar to audiences and overall answers why Hollywood moved on from him so abruptly. Harvey, bless his heart, looks old and tired of playing a role he's played a dozen times. Tragedies of the past are alluded to via the same flashback sequence over and over, but never developed (or really even matter). "Wrong Turn at Tahoe" is just a hollow shoot 'em with actor faces that you recognize (just older w/ more wrinkles).

****SPOILERS**** I leave a lot of room in movies but really dislike rape scenes, this one included a 10 second clip as a flashback where a mans middle school aged daughter is getting raped in front of him and it added zero value to the movie. Blah blah, bunch of adults killing each other over stupid stuff, another one of those movies, cool, we get it. They're consenting adults however choosing to engage in dangerous activity, if they die whatever. So I felt this rape scene was needless, in poor taste and didn't sit well with me at all!

I first watched this on Film 4 several days, if not a week or more after it was first transmitted. One has a DVD recordable. However like most films shown on the box, it was necessary to edit out the ads and on top of that it was almost certainly hacked by the censer. As a result when I transferred it to DVD ram I made a note to get my hands on a DVD or Blu-ray version as and when because I rated this as an exceptional thriller.

I don't want to give the storyline away too much spoiling it for others who have not watched it, all I will say is that we have something of a mid level gang boss (Miguel Ferrer), who kills a contact of a bigger higher level crime lord (Harvey Keitel). As a direct result the big fish, tries to bully the smaller fish into coughing up a serious amount of money as compensation. Naturally the smaller fish does not take too kindly to being bullied. However and more importantly, he becomes set on revenge when he discovers that his wife has been butchered. With the aid of his only remaining lackey (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), we end up with something of a bloodbath on our hands.

It's a nice tight thriller that is well directed in a realistic fashion by Franck Khalfoun. Whom I've never heard of before. In any event it's worth the highest rating possible that I can bestow upon it. Further I strongly recommended this film to others, especially if you happen the like violent gangster movies.
