This product worked just as intended. IMPORTANT!!-check the date of reviews. Epson did firmware update January 2021, it disables all 2020 generic ink. When purchasing, scroll down to reviews, if they are 2020, won’t work. Make sure you click on NEWER VERSION, those cartridge show reviews January 15 and later. They work excellent, this company produced the newer ones quickly. Never allow update on your printer, it doesn’t improve anything, forces you to buy the EXPENSIVE INK.

This is the 2nd brand of non-epson ink I've purchased and the first that has worked well and consistently. The other purchase I made was a big fail and I had to go back to buying the branded ink, which is way too expensive.

This product included instructions on how to reset the firmware on my Epson WF 2830. I did that first and had no problem getting them recognized. They work perfect. Problem solved!

Yes the Epson software prompts you to update firmware. From what I can tell it's only to prevent these 3rd party ink cartridges (which are rationally priced) from being used. I will keep ordering this ink!

The print quality compared to my epson branded ink is basically exactly the same. I can't tell any difference.

Affordable, solid buy, will be buying again!

A bit of my story, for those who may be interested or benefit from it:

I've had HP printers before but the tri-color cartridge, if it was empty on only one color, wouldn't even print (not even black and white). A waste of time and money sometimes.

I tried Brother for a while and had some decent success, liking that the colors were separate cartridges and you only need to replace what you use. Offbrand ink was available and inexpensive BUT the print quality was airy and light and not that vibrant, whether Brother brand or off brand ink.

After my brother printer finally died, I was impressed with the Epson WF series printer/scanners and their cost. Original purchase and ink worked really well. But Epson Ink cartridges are tooooo expensive. I tried an off-brand ink product and found that they were not working with my printer. No bueno. Some online said it was the firmware. Maybe so.

Anyhow, this product came with instructions about how to clear the epson firmware updates. I'm not sure if that was the problem before, or if these are just better made, but they worked in a jiffy with no problems whatsoever. At this price point, I'm happy to find something I can rely on.

Firmware updates will make the cartridges unrecognized

When I installed the first cartridge, the printer said it was not recognized. I found some tips from the internet: 1) put the old one back in, then change it out for the new one again 2) go through the entire "replace ink cartridge cycle" at least 2-3 times and eventually it might work 3) clean the contacts on the cartridge 4) unplug the printer from the wall, wait 30 seconds, plug back in, try again 5) remove the old cartridge, unplug, wait, plug in, install new cartridge. None of these things worked despite repeated attempts.

Eventually I attempted to contact the seller through Amazon - which was a total disaster, don't even try this, just go directly to ezink 123 dot com or call the number on the side of the cartridge itself. Support was very nice and said that the recent firmware upgrade from Epson is known to disable their cartridges (THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW) and said they would ship me an updated set right away*, and I should throw these ones out.

I will update this if/when the replacements arrive.

*Update #1: on the phone, the tech assured me the replacements would ship the same day, but might take 4-5 days to arrive due to USPS being overwhelmed with packages this holiday season. The shipping label was created that night, but the package did not actually leave their facility until five days later, and is projected to arrive nine days after my original call.

Update #2, after finally leaving the facility, it took another 11 days to travel 450 miles, from NYC to western PA. Clearly that part is not the seller's fault. The replacement works with the updated printer firmware, so ultimately I'm satisfied.

Not working in Epson WF 2850, printer does not recognize--received refund

Update: This seller reached out to me based entirely on my initial review and offered me a refund or a replacement. They explained that the cartridges did not work because of firmware updates from Epson. I find the firmware updates from Epson to be a giant pain in my rear and it doesn't surprise me that they are the cause of this issue. I did not bother to contact the company about a refund prior to this because I figured it was kind of my own fault for not reading the reviews more carefully before I made my purchase so I am impressed that this seller reached out to me anyway to rectify the situation. I responded to the email offering me a refund and I received the refund within hours. Excellent customer service.

As above, we are not able use these in our WF 2850 because the printer says the ink cartridges are not recognized. We have tried all the "fixes" found online but none have worked. Do not recommend, not worth it even if we do end up finding a way to make it work--who has time for that. I just want to put the ink in and be able to print.

This ink cartridge fit perfectly in my Epson XP-4100 that takes 212 Epson cartridge.Printer Had no problem recognising it.
Quality of print is great!Colors are intense and truth to the ones on the screen.
Overall a good buy and you save more than 40$ because the original Epson XL are double the price.
I can't review the longevity because i just install it but I'll come back when the cartridge is empty to update the review.Hope this helps.
