How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsSuper easy to install and comes with all you need, not sure of some reviews.
Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2021
I read some of these reviews and many claim to be computer techs and must not really be as this COMES WITH EVERYTHING you need to install it and configure the Nvidia drivers. You do NOT have to go and look for the drivers yourself like many claim, they ARE right THERE on the installation disc.

I put the card in, which is simple like we all know, turned the computer on, inserted the CD it came with, it installed whatever, rebooted again, the screen changed for the better as the new drivers worked. Then I configured some of the special Nvidia settings. Could not be simpler, just do not overclock this much as it WILL lockup, just did it myself. :>

First to be CLEAR, gaming cards are $350-$1000, this is not, so do not expect any "real" gaming performance. This is basically just a slightly better card to replace the built in internal Intel graphics chip. Nothing more really, a little better than internal graphics and frees up the ram some as it has its own ram and doesn't have to share, so that alone if a good thing.

2.0 out of 5 starsNOT for gaming
Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2018
If you think swapping out your 1GB gaming card for a 4GB card, this is NOT for you. One cannot get even 20 fps on most games, even with the game settings down to minimums. The one GB card I had, using the combination of overclocks and cpu tricks anyone can find, ran the same games at 30 fps with medium settings. There's a reason those 4GB cards for gamers are 6x the cost of this, do your research first. Everywhere I double checked brought up that this is basically functioning like a 1GB card with ride along storage to allow streaming of video, still graphics work, but it can't handle gaming, expect to spend at least 3x the cost of this card for even midstream gamers, 6x for over 30fps and 3D or 60fps with medium for most, example, steam games.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buggy in Win10
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2018

I've tried the card in 2 Win10 computers and it has been very buggy. I'm using the latest drivers from Nvidia. One problem is the computer will not always wake from screen saver and a reboot is required. The computers will also occasionally go black during use which also requires a reboot. I've had issues with video playback appearing black. I've also had problems with video editing. The lack of a fan makes the card quiet, but it also runs very hot. I've tried it in an i5 and a older core 2. All the problems went away when I switched to Radeon cards. If you're running Win7 you might have better luck.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cannot handle high texture or complex rendering
Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2021

This card has the ability to render high quality textures and graphics, OR it can produce moderate to high frame rates - BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME.
I bought this card specifically as a test. I was building a PC for a family member, and they wanted to be able to play Fortnite on this PC. They were a beginner and was interested in playing with some family members. I installed the card, updated drivers and software, and then installed Fortnite. With all video settings at LOW - the card would allow me to play Fortnite at approximately 30-45fps. The card was playable, and motion was smooth enough for me to win 1st place on my first try. I then moved all video settings to HIGH and the frame rate dropped into the single-digits, and was completely useless. I ended up with all video settings on LOW but bumping up the texture slider to 50% and was able to play with an average 25-30fps with a little video latency - but not horrible.

THIS IS NOT A GAMING CARD - but it *can* play games, if you make it (and have low expectations)

2.0 out of 5 stars No better than Intel 2000 internal graphics card
Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2020

I bought this card hoping it would increase my graphics capability over my internal graphics card, but it did not. This card seems like it would be useful if you have no video card at all on your system and just needed something. Amazon accepted my return with no fuss, so I don't feel too put out about the whole thing. I even gave an extra star because the return was so easy. I should have done my research first, but I didn't expect this thing to be so underpowered or rather low-powered.

3.0 out of 5 stars Budget Cards Really mean Budget Cards

The good:

The SFF fit perfectly in my desktop case. There is no separate power cable to connect to the card - it gets is power directly from the motherboard. Passive cooling means there is no extra fan noise inside the case

The Bad

I was disappointed in the card's performance on higher end games. I was getting severe stuttering on older titles like Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Sniper Elite 3 and Sniper Elite 4. There was a frustrating 1/2 second joystick lag.

Conclusion:
Even w 4GB of video memory, this card will only work well for lower intensity games.

1.0 out of 5 stars Underpowered and Weak

I upgraded an old, dusty 1gb video card from 2012 in a junk computer sitting around the house with this card and it's an absolute disappointment. The computer is primarily used for watching YouTube videos from time to time and occasional online school work for an elementary age child and it struggles mightily in its role. 480p videos freezing on frames and stuttering are so common I'm going to dig up the dinosaur card and put it back in. Seriously, I never had these issues on the older video card. The old Raspberry Pi 3 I have sitting around handles video playback better. Sad.

1.0 out of 5 stars Card is ABSOLUTE JUNK!!!!

This video card is actually MUCH worse in it's speed than the Intel on-board one that came with my PC. In a speed test it is a 5.6% on UserbenchMark.com My original ONBOARD video comes up at 10.5%, which itself is not good. But..5.6% is worse. This video card has 4GB of ram on it. It is supposed to be fast and be used for gaming. NOT EVER WOULD THIS CARD DO THAT!!! It is Horrible!!! I'm a computer builder and not just someone who doesn't know what they are looking at. The "Specs" show it should be good... The actual results show this should be tossed in the trash. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!

I needed a discreet gpu and that's exactly what I got. It took awhile for the recommended resolution to kick in, but once it did everything was crystal clear on my monitor. I thought everything was good with this gpu until I wanted to watch a movie on my pc. the movie was real choppy and viewing in slow motion. I know it has to be the nvidia drivers for this gpu, because I'm running a Corsair 3200 16GB RAM, along with a Ryzen 5 3600. I'm definitely sending this bad boy back and spending a lil bit more money a good gpu. it's true what they say. you can't go cheap on a gpu.

1.0 out of 5 stars nvidia control panel WILL NOT LOAD. Tried everything. Been building computers since the Vic20 .

I tried everything. installed, uninstalled, restarted, updated drivers, restarted from registry and many more things. This thing is trash. I dont know if the driver or the card is the prob. I've been building and installing computers over 25 years. Rarely if ever had a prob with a video card. No matter what I do, the nvidia control panel WILL NOT LOAD. Tried everything. Been building computers since the Vic20 .Back to an AMD card i guess. Btw, i rarely ever leave a 1 star review.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great card but not for Linux users

Zotac makes great a product, and I give them 5 stars. However, the Linux drivers from Nvidia are very poor quality. Serious Linux users should look elsewhere. Nvidia's Linux drivers for legacy boards leave a lot to be desired.
