Shouldn't have to buy anything, all the necessary parts should be in the box with the headphones. The double ended main cable goes the the X-box itself, while a short green cable goes from the in line dials to the controller. Once everything is plugged in properly, everything should be functional.

I don't think it will work for Xbox 1 or ps4
