Our baby car seat is in the center of our back seat too. I put the mirror on the left headrest and I am able to adjust it so I can see her fine.

Dear Catherine,
Thank you for posting a question! Yes, placing the Mirror in the center headrest should work as long as it is adjustable (not fixed).
If you need more clarification or have other questions in mind, please feel free to send us a message so we can assist you further.
With warm regards,
Francis

As long as you have a headrest it will work great. The straps clasp diagonally and vertically. So as long as you are able to go under and around the headrest it will work. It's a GREAT mirror by the way.

Mine works in the middle seat with a headrest. I find that I have to make sure it is really tight since it has a right over th baby, but works great
