can you use this thermometer in an outside smoker

Yes, I have a electric smoker, the door closed and sealed around the thin probe cables no problem. The temp unit mounted on the top of my smoker. The remote stayed with me and even set an alarm off when the meat hit the correct temp. Fantastic set up.

I only use mine on an outside smoker. It works great.

Hello,

Yes, just make sure it is only the probe and probe wire that go into the smoker.

Yes, although you may want to protect the transmitter from ambient conditions (rain, snow, etc).
Maybe a plastic zip lock bag or something like that to keep direct moisture off of the unit.
