How long does it take to cool down? Looking for portable for tailgating, rv, etc, would it work for this?

Good afternoon, Because of the multiple layers of 14 gauge seal with the fiberglass blanket, this grill will hold heat for a while. It can be used as a portable grill but will need several hours for cool down before transporting.
Thank you!

Yes it will work great for that ... it takes a little while for it to cool down after using but if you close all the vents up then it will cool down a bit faster ... but still very good for the use that you wanna use it for ... I love that little grill won't take anything else with me when I go camping

It doesn't take long. When I finish cooking, I close the vents which cuts off the Oxygen and you can see the temp gauge dropping. I keep mine in the garage except when I am grilling and put it back as soon as The gauge drops. This is a great little smoker. I can't see why anyone wouldn't like it.. or couldn't use it.. If I were hauling it somewhere, I would make sure it was secured so it wouldn't tip over and it needs to set on a sturdy table about 16'' high to use it comfortable. I haven't timed that cooling off period but I believe you would be safe in an hour.
