No you do not. Mine is on all of the time (on a battery backup). Since the Roon Nucleus is a CPU you do not need another Computer unless all of your media is on your PC. You do need an audio device that is a Roon ready music streamer to go into your audio system. I did put all of my music on a SSD which is plugged into the Roon Nucleus. This works fantastic among with Tidal. I use an Apple iPad to control the Roon.

Hello,
You just need to turn on the Nucleus once and keep it on. You do not need to turn it off when you are not streaming the music. Roon remote does not have to stay on, you can turn it off when you wish.

Nope. Push the power button on the rear of the unit and leave it on. Roon is not a streaming unit but a storage unit. So you will need to have another device to stream to your speakers. I use the Sonos AMP to stream.

The Roon Nucleus function is to be the core for Roon and that is its only purpose. Just get it hooked up to your WiFi turn it on and it will always do it’s job in my experience perfectly. It will receive its own updates and you don’t have to do anything. Nucleus comes with a price but the plug and play and ease of use-employment was worth it to me .

Yes, if you want to stream with Roon. But the intent is to just leave it on 24/7.

The nucleus should be left turned on at all times.
