There are complaints about lack of packaging for shipping - has this improved? i'm not returning items during covid-19.

Don't know if packaging has improved. There was basically no packaging inside my box when I ordered them and I had a broken one when I opened the package.

I placed my order and as is standard procedure with Amazon my package came through all bottles wrapped, separated, and none were broken.

The packaging did seem minimal. Probably why when mine arrived a couple were broke.
