A Roon Endpoint is a "Roon Ready" network player that have Roon’s high-resolution streaming technology RAAT built in. Roon will discover them on the local network and deliver the highest possible quality audio via streaming. Check to make sure your particular DAC is Roon Ready if you wish it to be an Endpoint. The Nucleus is hardware from Roon that runs the Roon Core - it is not a endpoint - the Nucleus is not a DAC. Your USB DAC can be connected to the Nucleus - and will probably work fine even if it is not 'Roon Ready' or a Roon Endpoint itself. You can play DSD from the Nucleus - you can set it up to convert to PCM in the Nucleus if your DAC is not a DSD DAC. You willl need a tablet or another computer running the Roon app to control the Nucleus and play music from it.
