Yes it does have little legs. It is awesome! We love it. We cooked some chili in it during a blizzard here in Canada and it was so much fun. We have used it camping this summer and made stew. I really recommend it..

We have only used it on a tripod over an open fire - never used it on a big green egg. I've used cast iron skillets on gas and charcoal grills with good success, but temperature control on charcoal can be a challenge.

I put vegetable oil on the inside of the pot and the inside of the lid. Then I baked in the oven for a while to get the inside seasoned. When I use the DO on an open flame, I coat the outside of the pot with liquid dish soap. Not very large, should hold about a gallon total. Bale wire doesn't.t hang well so slightly crooked over fire pit.....

Answer:
no, it is not pre-seasoned. It took me to times to get it properly seasoned. It is bare, cast iron. I rubbed it with vegetable oil and used my outdoor grill as the means of heating it up because it gets pretty smokey while the iron is absorbing the oil.
