We've been using it now for almost two years. Of course, it isn't as secure as it would be if it were attached to the walls, but we wanted something more portable to be used in various places. see less We use the "Baby" Gate for our two standard poodles. It was not mounted for a couple days and I had to secure it with bins on either side. It currently is wall mounted and I would not trust it around children. Joe? Joe Exotic? Is that you? It's that B, Carole Baskin. Don't you know that big cats don't belong in cages? Oh...um, just ignore this big cat in a cage behind me. He's just waiting for my husband to come play with him, but I accidentally spilled some sardine oil on him. I'm sure he'll be fine though. Or maybe it will… see more Joe? Joe Exotic? Is that you? Answer:
the panels can be removed (or added) 2 at a time, so you can have a shape with 4, 6, 8, 10, etc panels. you can probably remove just one panel if you are using it as a gate at a door way (we haven't used it that way yet). we love ours.

Answer:
They have an extension pack on the Regalo site. Search extension for model #1350. It's 2 panels for $50. You're better off buying a second full set for the price, to be honest. Then you have extra hardware too.

Answer:
If you have a small dog I would not buy this. Bought it from Walmart as my tiny morkie puppies were able to walk through it with ease. I have a 3.2 lb and a 2.8 lb puppy and they both could squeeze through it without struggling.

Answer:
The panels are easy to separate ... although the gate only comes with one set of wall mounts. It is not a pressure mounted gate so if you wanted to use the gate for several doors you would need to buy addition wall mounts.
