fit snug against the nose? or are you referring to the connector tube fitting to the aspirator? because if you're talking about the tube and nose, it should simply lay against the nostril to block it, the idea is to create a suction, it won't fit snug against the child's nose...

No. It’s actually pretty painful to use as an adult because our noses are bigger and the syringe portion goes too far in.

I have had this for 9 months now and use it every night after bath, I have NEVER had any "mold" on any part of this.. but we also take it apart each time and clean it...maybe that could have been your problem with the mold, it should be cleaned. On another note, the hose has a stopper connected to the cylinder so it shouldn't see any moisture to get mold. Im sorry if you had a bad experience, or read one... but mine has been good, with all the nasty colds flus and viral things going around my son hasn't been sick at all, I think this with his routine has helped see less Im not sure what your asking. .
