all I can tell you is that remote start worked on my 2013 GMC sierra slt 2500 hd. no problems at all.

I was able to reprogram my existing non-remote start as well as new fobs all with one reprogramming event. A total of 4 fobs.

This will only work if the truck has factory remote start and keyless entry.
If the truck doesn't have remote start than use part#99161

This kit will not require an existing working fob, but the vehicle must be factory equipped with keyless entry and remote start for this to work.

Check the fuse for the Data link connector. beyond that I have no idea, mine did great and I programmed 4 or 5 remotes.
