How do you detach the amplifier? Not sure what to take off? I have a station that is only 12 miles away VHF and can't get it but get all the other stations. Thought it might help to detach this?

I have not had that experience. I have found a spot that works but the antenna is finicky.

I am not a technician. My AC unit is 10 ft. from this window antenna. Working great. So I don't see any inconvenience.

No reason it should not work......the hook up from the converter box to the antenna is using the cable (F male plug) for the antenna input not the audio/video (yellow/red/white) inputs .

No mine isn't near a window. It depends on what area you live in. Also get a box to go with it you'll more local channels free.
