The feet are not rubber -- and not really slip resistant. They are made of the same plastic material as the legs. I have mine on a smooth wood desk. I have a 28" monitor on top of mine. The slot on mine is 9.5 inches. I don't use it. I have 2 of these stands, each holding an older laptop ( so they are heavier than today's units). They are perfect for my needs.

Yes, they stap together and stay together very well. It is easy to ajust how high or low you want it by snapping on or taking off. Simple yet sturdy.

My laptop definitely stays stable on top of it. I also put my laptop on a docking station on this stand and it is fine. The laptop does not slip around at all. If you are asking about the feet on the desk - they are not anti-slip.
