I used it to upgrade my Laptop and my desktop. I like it because it comes with the cable and the cloning software to make a copy of your current hard Drive.
All you have to do is connect your SATA SSD drive to the Apricorn cable, and plug it in to your USB port (use USB 3.0 port if you have it), then run the cloning software on the CD it comes with. The software will ask for the source drive (which is the drive you want to copy) and the destination drive (which is the new SSD). After that, you just start the clone and it does a bit-for-bit clone of the source drive. When it completes, just shut down your computer and swap the drives. see less

I currently own the 1 TB Evo and the 1 TB Pro both Samsung. If you are on a budget go with the 250. Good Luck! Answer:
Yes. It should work just fine in any laptop that accepts 2.5" SATA drives. For MacBook Pros, that means machines through the mid-2012 model. Don't forget to move your Torx screws over to the new drive!

SSD unit is 2.5 inch form (same as laptops use ) and will not mate up with 3.5 inch mounting frames. Adaptor brackets are easily available and cheap. Well worth the trouble for a good secure fit. Migration of data ( if you want to replace your main drive "C" with SSD for greater speed ) requires following Samsung migration software guidelines. Good Luck . Regards , Ross. see less

Answer:
I opted to use Macrium Reflect to clone my old drive. It was also 1T and the cloning worked perfectly. I used the recommended adapter and cloned the drive connected to a USB 3.0 port then swapped the old HD for the new SSD. Literally turned the computer on and everything worked perfectly.

Yes. My boot time went from a little over a minute to 12 seconds!!! I have a mid 2012 mbp with an i7, 8gb ram, and originally a Tb hdd. I also run bootcamp with Windows 10. I feel like I have a brand new computer. Also boots up programs like Photoshop, Lightroom and a few CAD/CAM programs a lot faster
