Sprint does not allow for their phones to be used on any other network and the same goes for putting their SIM cards into phones that are not originally theirs. Sprint has the capability and will shut off your SIM card if you attempt to place it in a phone of any other network or “unlocked” device.

That would depend on the phone companies operating in the Caribbean. I have hooked up to T-Mobile and ity works great. If T-Mobile operates in the Caribbean it should work.

Unlocked phones are typically GSM compatible, so that's T-Mobile, Metro PCS, AT&T. Therefore CDMA carriers like Sprint or Verizon don't accept these phones.

I do know it is unlocked, I have purchased 2 of them and they work perfectly. As for Jamaica I honestly do not know, but don't think it would be a problem. I have traveled to Australia and the UK and had no problems
