I do NOT recommend for newborns. My son weighed 5lbs 1 oz at birth and was 4lbs 12oz the day he was taken home in his 4ever DLX. He had to be propped up with 4 rolled washcloths in order to fit properly. It was such a hassle that I ended up purchasing a bucket seat that he fit perfectly in. He used that until about 10 …

Removing the car seat from your vehicle will involve detaching the latches from the vehicle hooks and detaching the seatbelt through the seatbelt path in the car seat which is alot of work. Also, the car seat itself is very heavy so waking around with it might be impossible. Based on your needs I would recommend getting an infant car seat with the handle or get an infant carrier.
