Answer:
I have the 7th generation hd 10 and yes I was able to get the Google play store on it, and so far most apps from the play store work like if it were an Android tablet. There are YouTube videos that show you how to get the play store on the kindle, it's an easy process that takes maybe 5-15 minutes.

You can look up my review of the new Amazon Kindle 10 HD, which talks more deeply about the difference between new and previous version. I wrote it because I own both devices and made the decision that someone should compare both devices to see if its worth to upgrade. To me, it was a easy decision. You getting a lot for it's price. It is hard to find another tablet coming even close to Amazon Kindle Fire 10 HD at its price. I think the upgrade is well worth it. see less It's a basically new device. Mine has actually updated to Fire OS 6.1 and I'm sure there will be another update on the operating system in the future. The new 15 watt charging ability is great and the octa-core processor is sweet on paper and it may run faster than the 2017 version but that's not enough to make me spend $150 for a base 2019 model when I love the one I have. It still has just 2 GB of RAM... I was expecting at least 4 GB and a 2.4-2.5 gigahertz processor over the 1.8 gigahertz in the 2017. The screen is still the same 224 DPI IPS panel as well. I'm sure it's a great tablet if you don't already own it's predecessor. I love my 2017 10.1" but I was expecting more given that even base model phones have more RAM, quicker processors and nicer panels. see less The old one still works like a charm and is very quick especially considering I grabbed it on sale for $79.
