I don’t know what counts as micro cut, but I’m satisfied with how small the pieces are.

The existing answers appear to be for the older 6-sheet model. The current AmazonBasics 12-sheet micro-cut shredder, B07PGMMNC6 has a nice pull-out basket, typical of shredders in the 140+ dollar class. BTW, the micro-cut pieces are roughly 5/32" squares.

It will shred the equivalent of 6 standard pages of paper. It will not shred standard corrugated cardboard but will shred thin cardboard. This is a great shredder. Answer:
Never use Vegetable oil (it will get sticky and ruin the shredder), however, Canola oil should work just fine and really special shredder oil is nothing more than canola oil anyway. Its what I use on two other working shredders.

The info says three minutes and then it automatically shuts down for cool down. I have not tested it to see if that is the case, but the grandkids sat feeding it a page at a time (giggling the entire time) for about fifteen minutes with no issues.

I don't think so, just paper and credit cards. There's no slot for CD's.

No, it is not that heavy duty. It can only shred up to 6 pieces of PAPER at a time. I would not put a card board box through it.
