If you expand it, pack and then close it we've always been able to re-zip the expansion section to get it back to the original dimensions. Very durable. It expands nicely. Strong zippers. Wheels work very well. It holds a ton of stuff. I used it for international travel in 2020 and 2021 several times and it comes through like a champ packed with 50 lb of luggage.
