Yes, the support is fine, but there is a seam sewn into the fabric right where you don't want a seam. If you plan on doing a lot of movement, you will probably get a lot of chafing!
I'm 34 Waist and I bought the large. The large felt like I was wearing a medium. It was tight around the waist. So if you want something snug I'd say go a size up.
They run true to size. I am a 34 and used the Medium and they fit perfect. Here is what they recommend. Small Fit Waist 30-33.5" Hip 36-38" Inseam 6.5"
Medium Fit Waist 32-35.5" Hip 38.5-41" Inseam 6.7"
