It works with TracFone, but only if you have a BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) sim card ,which you can buy from Amazon for a buck. If your sim came with a TracFone phone, then it's linked to that phone and won't work in another. I have a BYOP sim in my Ulefone Armor, and this is the third phone I've used it in, all with no issues.

If your straight talk Sim is Verizon then your mobile data it's not going to work. I know T-Mobile mobile data will work, but I'm not sure of the correct APN settings at the moment.

Yes, if you have the WiFi calling set to "on", the phone switches automatically so long as the WiFi signal is stronger than the tower signal.

My guess is it is not the phone. I receive mms all the time. I would check with your carrier.
