Answer:
It doesn't strap to the car seat. The seat simply rests on the seat, and you feed the belt through.

This Graco car seat has the head rest and the way he sits in it he falls asleep every time we get in get in the car if it's longer than a 15 min ride!!! Love the seat; took it to a saftey inspection and was told that it is one of the better seats on the market. We love it!!!! It adjusts to them there is a lever in the back to make them more comfortable and do much safer than the booster seats alone. It has a place to slide the seatbelt in to make sure it is positioned properly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! see less

Answer:
Absolutely unless you use it without the back, in which case you have to use the special strap. This is how the seat positions the belt on the shoulder where it works as intended instead of the neck where it could be lethal. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS it comes with if you buy it.

Answer:
Booster seats when not in use are supposed to be buckled in the same way as if your child was in it

Answer:
The shoulder width is fine for a five year old of pretty much any size. The seat doesn't cup around the shoulders in the same way a 3 pint harness seat does. Hope this helps....Also, as the child grows and gets heavier, you would remove the top portion of the seat and use only the booster chair part.

Answer:
We are happy to assist you with this information Shree! When the seat is not occupied by the child, you should still fasten the seat belt over the seat. This will keep the seat from toppling over or possibly becoming projectile when empty.

Answer:
No it does not have the LATCH system. You would need to use just the seatbelt to secure the car seat.
