Got this so we would have a grill while traveling. It works great. Just the right size and fits in a cubby in our vintage RV. It's kind of hard hooking the legs together when it is open, but I finally decided that's not completely necessary. One hint - don't use match light charcoal.…

Perfect for camping

Even grilling, light weight, easy to transport to campsite. Love it

picnics, camping!

great collapsible for travel. love it!

For camping and cooking for 10 people, would two of these give me enough cooking space?

I have cooked 6 quarter pound burgers and at the end threw on a package of dogs. I have made 4 tin foil pack dinners at one time and then 6 small ribeye steaks. I guess it depends on the appetites of the people and what you cook. You could cook in stages to get the most from your grill. First something you can keep warm (veggies like corn) and then the meat. I know I could feed at minimum of four people with one grill. If you are creative I would think you could do it. I love mine and it is so portable for camping.

This description states that this is a Weber Gas Go-Anywhere charcoal grill, so does that mean you can hook up a gas tank to it?

This is strictly Charcoal. Great grill for camping, but strictly Charcoal

Great BBQ For Family Camping

I have been using this BBQ for two years now. It is vey well made and shows no signs of age. The extra money against getting a cheaper painted BBQ have been repaid over the two years. We have cooked for 8 people using this BBQ on our overland trips in the desert.

Excellent product perfect for camping

This is the best portable charcoal grill. Very easy to use and you can close it up without the mess. It is the best $50 I spend. Highly recommend over all the cheep stuff our there.

great camping grill

We love this grill for our camper. More than enough room for our family of 4

Great tailgating or camping grill.

Great for a small grill. Has vents on bottom and top, easy to control the heat when cooking. Easy to transport with the locking bar on the hood. Great for tailgating!

Great for camping or for overflow

Very nice design, easy to carry and handle. Even has a rest for the lid when cooking. Used this for a week at the cabin and it was fantastic! Very windy conditions and was still easily able to grill on the beach with no heat/burning issues. I've also used this for overflow when cooking on my Weber Performer for things like potatoes and corn with great success.

Has anyone use it successfully with the Alps Mountaineering 28" x 28" Camp Table? It's more portable than the Weber table.

I have not used it on this table. I have camped with this grill many times. I either put it in top of the picnic table or on the ground near my fire pit. It's a great grill.

Is assembly required? If I had two of these, would I be able to cook meals for 10 people camping?

Yes assembly is required but very straightforward and quite a breeze. Cooking a meal for 10 people is very possible on just one of these; might have to cook in 2 batches depending on what exactly ure cooking. For example if ure making just burger patties, u could easily make one batch, but if steaks or kebabs then more than 1 batch. Having said that, 2 of these would make life even easier for u. I'll add that they are very sturdy and I've had for over a year.

Great for tailgating and camping

Much more room than smokey joe. Much bigger than Smokey Joe and cooks wonderfully. Lid clamps on with handle and stays tight. Easily adjustable vents. I like this almost as much as my full size Weber.

Great for travel or camping

Love it! No more bunge cords like a smokey Joe. Big enough for med family.

Camp cookout perfection

Great size, very solid and sturdy and easy to put together. Performed perfectly. Highly recommend!

Is the vent on the bottom the same kind as the one on the top cover?

Yes just a bigger version on the very bottom. I've got the 22 inch and sware by it. Got the jumbo joe for camping and tailgating. Works great. Cooked a Boston butt on for 10+ hrs. Kept its charcoal.

Is it safe to have this on a wooden table top while grilling?

I'd did use it on a wood table top while camping earlier this year. I also stayed with it the whole time while in use. The large ash tray caught all cinders. Use common sense as with any fire.

Perfect size for 2-4, cooks awesome

Great for the hubby and I and awesome for camping!

Five Stars

Very well made going camping with it !

I can not afford the bigger grill, I want to get this as a gift for my husband, Will it be enough for a family of 4? we only grill burger and stakes.

I love this little grill. It will cook enough for a family of 4.I have six people total and it cooks just enough.I am going to buy a 2nd one for camping to feed a larger group

How long does it take to cool down? Looking for portable for tailgating, rv, etc, would it work for this?

Yes it will work great for that ... it takes a little while for it to cool down after using but if you close all the vents up then it will cool down a bit faster ... but still very good for the use that you wanna use it for ... I love that little grill won't take anything else with me when I go camping

Great for camping and for apartment balconys where you are ...

Great for camping and for apartment balconys where you are technically not suppose to have a "grill." I love it!

Quality A++ I also love that its portable for camping season

…Quality A++ I also love that its portable for camping season!!!

How portable is it, say driving to a park and grilling and will it fit in the trunk of a small sedan?

It's pretty portable, but it's kind of tall and the grates are cast iron and not locked down so I don't know if I would feel comfortable turning it on it's side unless I took out the grates. I will say that I'm very impressed with the grill, I bought it to take camping and I'll never cook on anything else from now on when I'm out there.

What table can you use or would a fire pit work?

We use a 3' fold out METAL round table. It's the perfect height - unless you're a left tackle in the NFL. You could use it in a fire pit, but cooking on your knees is no fun. That being said, here are the + and - " 1. Great fit and finish 2. Super easy to assemble 3. Cast iron grate is easy to"season" - just keep it clean and use canola or shortening to prevent rusting 4. I have 4 propane (Weber Spirit, Kitchenaid 3 burner, Stok tailgate, and a junk 2 burner), 4 charcoal (Weber Performer, Large Char Griller, and now this Jr. (my wife hates me, but she loves the food!) 5. We - I - have cooked everything on this grill for a family of five since we got it. 6. When you get the dampers set, this thing holds a VERY consistent temp. Now for the bad: 1. We use this as a camping grill too, and it's a bit heavy for the size. 2. Hmmmm... That's about it.

Is it portable? I want to take it out on camping trip and I don't really like the shorter grills.

The barbecue is rather large, but easy to move on the patio. I'm not sure I would take it on a camping trip without plenty of room and extra help lifting it into the vehicle.

How well does this pack away for trips?

I would check into the smoky joe - perfect for tailgating. we have one of these and a smoky joe for camping.
